Anticancer: A New Way of Life

All of us have cancer cells in our body but not all of us will develop cancer”

The way we lives has been changing drastically over the past few decades. The quality of life for many of us has declined and is even affecting our health. Bet many people don't have an overview of how this affects us or what we can do about it. What is needed is a personal strategy to stay healthy, especially for food choices and stress management.

When David Servan-Schreiber, a dedicated scientist and doctor, was diagnosed with brain cancer, his life changed. Confronting what medicine knows about the illness and the little-known workings of his body's natural cancer fighting capacities, and marshaling his own will to live, Servan-Schreiber found himself on a fifteen-year journey from disease and relapse into scientific exploration and, finally, to health.

Combining memoir, concise explanation of what makes cancer cells thrive and what inhibits them, and drawing on both conventional and alternative ways to slow and prevent cancer, Anticancer is revolutionary. It is a moving story of a doctor's inner and outer search for balance; radical in its discussion of the environment, lifestyle, and trauma; and compelling and cautionary in its proposal that cancer cells lie dormant in all of us and that we all must care for the "terrain" in which they exist.

Advocating a change in the way we understand and confront cancer, Anticancer is a radical synthesis of science and personal experience, an inspiring personal journey, and certainly a guide to "a new way of life." Anticancer tells us:

This internationally acclaimed, New York Times Best Seller book explains how omega 6 fatty acids promote cancer, while omega 3 deters cancer. Originally farm animals ate mostly green plants that are high in omega 3. But now most are fed corn and soybeans and little or no greens which means meat and even dairy products and eggs we consume contain excessive omega 6 and very little omega 3.

Also, there is a serious epidemic of obesity caused mostly by high fructose corn syrup which can be found in everything from breakfast cereals to soft drinks. High-fructose corn syrup has become a popular ingredient  because it is cheap to manufacture. It confuses your body into wanting more and more, and regular consumption can lead to obesity and other serious health problems, such as cancer.
