The bull huss, or "greater spotted dogfish", is similar to its relative the lesser spotted dogfish in appearance, but is bigger, with bigger spots, and, smaller, looser nasal flaps. It is one of the biggest fish lurking around the rocks, and can be caught from the shore in many places. West Cork is one of the best places to catch bull huss from a boat. It is one of the few fish where the Irish record is bigger than the British record.
