DONOVAN
Troubadour: The Definitive Collection
As far as recording contracts go, it all began to happen for Donovan Philips Leitch in 1964 with the release of two albums: Catch The Wind
I consider their live album, 'Bless Its Pointed Little Head' their best but LJS holds the psychedelic medal of excellence. For this album, it was Grace Slick on piano and vocals, Jack Casady on Bass, Paul Kantner on rhythm guitar and vocals, Jorma Kaukonen on lead guitar and vocals, Papa John Creach and his 'electric' violin, and three different drummers; John (Goatee) Barbata, Joey Covington and Sammy Piazza.
