The group is Mike Harrison on the piano and vocals, Greg Ridley on bass, Mike Kellie on drums, and Luther Grosvenor on guitar and vocals. Art was a band that flourished briefly and disappeared, kind of like a rare bloom. They grew out of a mid-60's beat quartet called The VIPs, which, at one time, included the pre-NICE Keith Emerson in their ranks.
The group only recorded this one album and it is a gem. I especially like the trance-like style of songs like: 'Room With a View', 'Love is Real', and 'Flying Anchors'. The title song and 'I Think I'm Going Weird' are what make Art stand out as a 'once in a lifetime' bloom. You should have this rare album while it is still available. The group then evolved into a more familiar band called "Spooky Tooth" and released seven albums under that name. Supernatural Fairytales was released in the flurry of releases from many well known bands during the Summer of Love but shouldn't lie under the heap in obscurity. It is truly exceptional in its own right - just look at that cover art.
