Seen' local Djs flex, is not something you get to see every day. Much less a turntable crew taken' over a club, And kickn' a phat show of skill. I don't know, how many of you people out there know the difference. Of a "DJ" and a "Turntableist". Let me brake it down to you...
Djs are the lucky few spinning every week at your favorite clubs. A key part for Djs, is to use there skill to feel the vibe. From the crowd and select the perfect record to play. Beat match it and change records. All with out the people knowing, not an easy task.
Turntableist are Djs, and for the most part are called Djs. The Turntableist power, is the ability grab a peace a vinyl and manipulate it to become a horn, drum, vocal or what ever they choose. Changing a regular turntable in to an instrument with infinite sound. Then you got turntable music. Like a Jazz band, turntableist combine and form a band of turntables. All adding there style and sound. Like cutting' and scratching' the sound of a car crash in to a beat. Trick’s and showmanship are a whole other world.
