Billy might be a new face for European and American audience, but Billy has been perfoming almost his whole life. He was born in the Philippines 16th of May 1982 (so he’s 16). By a Philipino monther and an American father. He was discovered dancing on a table at a age of two in a bowling alley frequented by his mother. He got enlisted for Tv commercial. Success followed quickly (I’m not suprised :-).
Billy became a regular cast member of the weekly variety show «That’s entertainment,» enjoying an eight-year run. Meanwhile he developed his kills by makeing commercials and appearing in ten movies. He even won a local academy award for best child actor.
At a age of 12, the Crawford family moved to his father home state of Texas in Midland. They setteled there, and for the six first month Billy contented himself with being a regular kid. But the urge to performe got back and it was ompossible to ignore. He entered a talent show in Dallas, he won first prise whit a rendition of Michael Jackson’s (Jackson 5ive’s) «I’ll be there.» The he met manager Vickie Franmanom who introduced him to producers eve Nelson and Bernadette O’ Reilly.
Billt moved with his family to New York City. He started to really consentrate on writing songs with Nelson and O’ Reilly. They ended up with 60 original tunes before cutting his album. he began working in commercials and ecpanding his resume in other ways.
In 1995 he appeared in a troup of back up dancer for Michael Jackson at the Mtv Music Awards. on the Childeren’s Choice Awards, which featured appearances by Brandy, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah and basketball star John Starks. Billy also opened the show by singing the program’s theme.
Now Billy has given out his debut album «Billy Crawford». It’s a splended album by one of the most talented guys in the world (that’s what I mean :-). It’s all from the snappy «Urgently in love» and the lush «Our Nights» to the sizzling grooves of «Mary Lopez» and the spooky «tragedy».
