A Poem Written for Travis
Happened so fast...
It all happened so sudden
it all happened so soon
Why did God do this?
Can't he see we all loved you?
Didn't he know you loved us too?
Memories of you flash though our minds
As we think about you all the time
For every day we spent with you
Are the day's we'll cherish so true
We just want you to know that
We'll always love you in each and every way
And we'll keep you in our hearts every passing day
In loving memories of : Travis Scott Woodwyk.
I love you Travis!!!!
September 30 2004

Travis had just turned 16 with his whole life in front of him. He hung around with this kid from school who was the dangerous kind, always doing things to try to scare his friends, kind of like a out of control "truth or dare game."
On September 30, 2004, Travis went to this boy's house, they were smoking marijuana and talking on the phone to various girls. Cody, the boy who murdered him went into his bedroom leaving my nephew in the kitchen, brought out a 20 gauge shotgun loaded it in front of Travis and pointed it in his face, all the while talking on the phone.
Cody said he just wanted to scare my nephew, then the phone he was holding on his shoulder slipped and he forgot he had his finger on the trigger, so when he went to grab the phone he accidentally pulled the trigger, taking off the left side of my nephews head, thankfully, death was instant and my handsome loving nephew felt no pain.
Cody was sentenced as a adult to 7-15 years in prison, he HAS to do the 7 years before he is even considered for parole.
Our family told Cody that what he did will forever leave a hole in our lives. He will someday get out of prison and resume what life he has left.
Travis is gone, he will never drive a car, go to prom, graduate from high school, marry or have children.
Travis was the light and the glue that held the family together, with his passing, the only thing holding us together is our undying faith in our heavenly father.
Travis Scott Woodwyk is sadly missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
