(To view Mindi's Lights, you have to light a candle)

Funny Story: She was very mischievous when she was younger. I remember once, my brother Ernest once lost a $100 bill. He talked to my father and told him that it was just gone, out of his wallet. Dad told him that it is impossible to just loose $100 in your wallet. Well, here was Mindi, all of 7 or 8 years old smiling from ear to ear. “Mindi, would you happen to know what happened to Ernest’s money?” Dad asked her. She replied, “Not really. I’m not sure, but if you look in that book with the red cover on the shelf, you might find it on page 368.” Ernest picked up the book and lo and behold, just as she said on page 368 was his crisp $100 bill. Everyone laughs about that to this day. She had no intention on keeping it. At her age she didn’t know the difference between $10 & $100. It was Christmas Eve, Mindi was 5 years old. Curiosity got the best of her. She unwrapped all of the gifts underneath the Christmas Tree. (Even those that were not hers). After doing this, she got a little worried about being fussed and hid all the gifts in the most odd places; under the kitchen sink, in the oven, in the closet, in the refrigerator, under the bed. When everyone else got up and realized there were no gifts under the tree, we knew who to talk to. There were no more tags on anything, so we didn’t know who’s gifts were for who. So, Mom and Dad attempted to remember how to distribute the gifts. Favorite Hobby: No question about it, Dancing and singing. Her and my niece, Brandi Perrillioux (B.B.) were always singing and dancing. She taught B.B. to dance, and today that little girl can hang with the best of dancers. What did she do for a living: Mindi was a homemaker, wife and mother. That is all she wanted to be. She took really good care of her children. Her family was her life. What will she be remembered for mostly: The lives she saved. The people she helped. The impact she had on so many people. The way she was always smiling. (It was a beautiful, contagious smile) The way this woman could never hold a grudge, no matter how badly you hurt her feelings. She loved life, she loved living life. She was just happy to be here. She told anyone and everyone hello and goodbye. Everyone was Mindi’s friend. If you couldn’t be her friend, you couldn’t be anyone’s friend. Best asset / character trait: She was the most forgiving person I ever knew. Never held a grudge. A generous heart. She always had a positive outlook on life. No matter how bad things got, she would always find the bright side of things. She had a quality that is very hard to find. I have never, in my 21 years of memories with her, ever heard her ever say, “Why Me?” She always said, “It’s gonna be alright.”
