
<----------------Apple cobbler----------------> 1 cup light brown sugar 3/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened 5 California apples; peeled, cored and sliced Preheat oven to 375ºF. In small bowl, mix sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg together. With fork or pastry blender, cut in butter until crumbly. Slice apples into buttered 9x9x2" glass pan. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly on top. Bake for 35 minutes at 375ºF or until apples are tender. it was most valued in Germanna as a central food and money.They were a most important resource due to the fact that so many things could be made from it such as ,apple snitz,apple cider,and of course the apple cobler. The cobler was a very important food at the dinner tabel as was most of the other apple products it was eaten at cermonial evcents such as thanksgiving and all other religous cermonies.
