Seniors Helping Young People - Adopt a child who needs your help

Teenage problems with substance abuse include not only drugs and alcohol, but also smoking as well.

GUIDANCE is providing supervision, structure, routines and periodic monitoring of your child’s behavior, performance and level of success. Our Young People need Adoptive Grandparents who become more involved with their Our Young People when they begin to fail or make mistakes.

- Instruction is providing Our Young People with examples, information and explanations regarding expectations. Our Young People need Adoptive Grandparents who provide information upon which Our Young People can solve problems and make choices.

- Training is providing Our Young People with activities that require practice and corrective action. Our Young People need to practice what is expected in order to succeed. Routines are essential.

- Choices involve allowing Our Young People freedom and opportunities within limits to be curious, explore, make decisions and learn based on the outcome. Our Young People need to explore the physical and social world within safe limits that insure opportunities for success and occasional failure that is not overwhelming.

- Consequences involve allowing Our Young People to discover the natural result of their actions. Some consequences must be imposed by Adoptive Grandparents or caregivers. Our Young People need Adoptive Grandparents who monitor and create consequence that do not overwhelm them with failure but rather inspire effort to succeed.

- Emotionally bonded relationships. Our Young People and Adoptive Grandparents form emotional bonds when they are involved in activities together where Our Young People face challenges. These bonds result in caring and consideration for others as well as self-confidence. Our Young People need Adoptive Grandparents who can maintain emotional bonds.

Young People Helping Seniors - Adopt a Grandparent

We know elderly seniors are capable of living on their own with a little help. By providing a variety of services, our "Gardenian Angels" can help maintain this independence.

Our seniors face an array of problems, which have a potential for abuse, including: alcoholism, anxiety, consumer fraud and abuse, dementia, depression, financial abuse, grief, mental health problems, suicide and tenants’ rights.

As part of our program, our teenagers provide special attention for our seniors needs. They visit, help around the house and help to take care of them.

There are certain goals, attitudes, visualizations and memory selection combinations that have been found to enhance the quality of life and relationships when you sustain them in your mind by an act of your will. With kind acts of love, we become the miracle of those in need.

If you have an immediate problem or just need someone to talk to, we are here for you. If there a problem that we can help you solve, then we will assist in any manner to do so. FIRST, you must respond.

HOW CAN YOU HELP OTHERS

If you, your family, your church or your company has a few hours a week to spend with a lonely person, WE NEED YOU. If you have items of clothing, books, blankets, old mobile telephones, food, most anything you no longer need that works, or just a few dollars, we ask that you send them to us now. Even one can of food can be a meal for someone who is hungry. Send your items of love to: SEEDS OF LOVE, INC. 25 Dendy Street, West Pelzer, SC 29669. If you have office space, office equipment etc. that you would like to donate, we will cheerfully remove them out of your way. We anticipate expansion and WE NEED YOUR GIVE-AWAYS. If you wish to deal with the receiving department direct, we will gladly put you in touch with them. If you prefer to adopt a family or senior citizen, we can choose one suited for you.
