Ramanayan Caesar

Two years before Danaan would sacrifice herself and bring about the aisling and the first deoch on the isle of dawn in the city of Rucesion Ramanayan of the family Leviticus cognonamed Caesar was born. He was the son of then high councilor Cyril of the Loures High Council however very few knew this connection. For shortly after his mother's began her pregnancy Cyril had her sent away - officially listed as a divorce. Cyril's real reasoning was that he could not actively combat the Pact of Anaman which still held shadows of power behind the throne while he had a son as he knew it would be his undoing. Ramanayan would not know the truth about his father until long after Cyril had been slain.

So that being young Ramanayan was raised in Rucesion by his mother Julia and his uncle Flavius, who was a guard captain. His mother told him that his real father had been killed battling the forces of Chadul before he had been born although in reality this was not far from the truth. Starting on a path that would lead to greatness Ramanayan from a young age proved to be a tireless reformer and learner. He read all the classics and histories of early Temuair. He even began picking up the works of the aislings who were slowly growing in population. Much to his mother's dismay his childhood hero was Tenes whom Ramanayan saw as a man who had a dream but had become corrupted by the forces of darkness.

Ramanayan's mother Julia died when he was only eight in deoch six. From then on he lived with his uncle Flavius - when he was at home. As a young boy Ramanayan had a tendency to explore and look at the many creatures that lived nearby. Even dubhaim castle did not frighten him away. When he was ten he went to the forsaken castle and watching from a crack in the wall observed a Sgrios mass complete with a human sacrifice and scubuci summons. While even most adults would run from such a scene young Ramanayan watched the entire mass with curiosity. When Flavius asked him where he had been Ramanayan replied "Understanding what others fear".

At age fifteen in deoch 13, fall Ramanayan was sleeping peacefully he dreamed a curious dream in which he was walking in the sky on a ray of light which seemed to go in and out of his eyes. Being quite knowledgeable of things Ramanayan knew it instantly what was happening - the spark had come. When he woke up he knew he was far away from Rucesion. He was in a wooden room inside of an inn. He had a strange feeling of even more knowledge inside of him. As he was walking downstairs to see where exactly he was a vision appeared to him. It was of a man dressed in fine nobleman’s robe but armed as well. The vision spoke "You have the most powerful gift of all. You have my blood. Together they are unstoppable. You have a destiny. Never forget that. One day you will realize who I am and then will understand." and then the vision vanished. And so Ramanayan walked outside of the inn in Mileth and began a new life as an aisling.

Ramanayan learned quickly of his new home and abilities. He was an aisling and could do anything. After learning much about the paths open to him as an aisling he choose that of a priest and soon found an priestess named Paradise to guide him into the path. After being guided Ramanayan never saw Paradise again. He did find a mentor, Feril, but she to vanished. And so Ramanayan was left to explore his path and destiny on his own.

After starting his journey into the priest path Ramanayan began searching for a god to worship. He eventually settled on Fiosachd and was not long after a priest of a fellowship. Once within the fellowship he proved a great reformer. He offered geas and held a mass for the faithful. Although content in his position Ramanayan watched in dismay of the condition of the upper clergy of the fellowship. Letting such thoughts go away for the time being Ramanayan set about organizing the first Fiosachd Fair which proved to a great event for aislings.

Shortly before the fair Ramanayan had finished mentoring his first student Gwendaline, the priestess. With a mentorship he could now enter politics in Mileth. He quickly obtained office as respected citizen and began seeking the guard office with the goal of eventually becoming a judge. However religion took priority over politics for the time being so the guard ship was put on hold.

With the end of the Fiosachd Fair deoch 17 came around and much tension began building in the fellowship. Ramanayan had always urged adopting a standard geas in response to the growing actions of priests randomly giving religious geas out. Around the same time many posts began mysteriously vanishing from the fellowship board. At that time there two high priests Feena and Felicity. Both were older aislings and now at the height of their minor political careers. They showed little interest the well being of the fellowship and the ideas to improve it.

With or without the high priests help Ramanayan devised a new and effective idea for governing the fellowship. His idea was a council made up of nine members. It would contain three acolytes, three priests, two clerics or greater, and a council president. When Ramanayan posted this idea the high priests replied with posts calling it in the ways of seditious and threatening. It was threatening in a way - to their power. There was some debate within the fellowship of the idea and other suggestions to improve the fellowship and Ramanayan assumed things would get worked out in time.

In the midst of this great debate in the fellowship several massive board burnings happened. Due to recent mundane actions only high priests could remove postings from any fellowship board. First they opposed the reforms and now they were making blatant efforts to censor opposition. Ramanayan had finally enough of their tyranny and at his mass one double moon during the winter of Deoch 17 he declared a crusade to reform the fellowship and curb the power of the upper clergy.

The stories of the crusade (also known widely at the Fiosachd Wars) have been told and twisted numerous times by many different parties. This biography is perhaps the first copy of what actually happened. In the beginning their was chaos on both sides. It was more so on the side of the high priests as they were facing a foe of unknown numbers or strength. Those who supported Ramanayan also were somewhat confused as to what actions they should take. Finally it was Ramanayan who made his sides goals clear: Establish clear governing guidelines for the fellowship, curb the powers of the upper clergy, and restore control back to the masses of worshipers. Ramanayan and his supporters formed the Great Council of the Fiosachd Fellowship as Ramanayan's previous idea had suggested. Its first members were Heiler, Geran, Cleante, Paetheon, Starlancer, IceAngel, Ganedorf, and Mercurlus. Ramanayan was the president. It was also made quite clear that no heresies or excommunications would be used againist the other side. Ramanayan belived it could be worked out by dialogue.

Unfortuntly it would seem the high priests had no desire for dialogue. After their intitial disorder they managed to get enough aislings together to declare Ramanayan a heretic and drive him from the temple. Although it seemed the high priests had won in reality the great council simply now bought itself time while it prepared for the coming battles. Deoch 18 brought sevreal attempted peace talks - none initated by the high priests. The former fiosachd high priest Wuhao set up a meeting between Ramanayan and Fenna & Felicity. However Felicity's arrogant husband Xibalba also attended which did not help the situation. In the end the talks produced little result. Ramanayan offered to compromise if the high priests took an oath that clearly defined their powers he would drop his other requests. However Felicity haughty and arrogant refused with the support of her husband. Fenna followed suite and so ended those talks.

The next attempt at peace did not involve Feena or Felicity at all. There was a good peace talk between Ramanayan, Solon, and a few other priests. The meeting was arranged by Azov, a neutral priest who had hosted the Fiosachd Fair with Ramanayan back in Deoch 16. All sides agreed that the fighting must stop and also agreed to meet again soon to discuss more. With this good relation now with Feena's once die hard ally Solon and other influentional priests Ramanayan saw fit to make a return to the fellowship.

As he planned Ramanayan soon returned to the fellowship with the thought that the fighting would soon be over. It was the winter of Deoch 18 and the conflict had been going on for now over a deoch. Feena had no interest in peace at that moment and she thought she could crush her opposition in a single strike. Feena herself excommunicated Ramanayan shortly after he rejoined the fellowship. Ramanayan himself admits that for the first time during the conflict he became enraged and that talk apparently would no longer work. Shortly after Deoch 19 had begun Ramanayan's supporters moved into action and declared Feena a heretic. For this was the last thing that Ramanayan wanted to do but he saw no alternative.

The blow was stunning and spectatular. Feena the mighty had fallen. Many more now flocked to the opposition, inculding some former supporters of Feena. The council debated if to move aganist Felicity. Heiler however presured that Xibalba, who recently obtained high priest status, should be declared first and then perhaps Felicity would sue for peace. That idea was agreed to and put into motion. This plan was not needed as shotly after falling Feena herself sued for peace. In secret talks held in the Piet sewers a peace agreement was reached that guarennted the right of the great council to exist and the regonition of the existing powers of the upper clergy but no more. And so both sides came to an uneasy peace and Ramanayan returned to the fellowship and eventually became a cleric. He said he could forgive and forget and for awhile it seemed Feena would do the same. But many deochs later would her full treachery be revealed.

It is here I wish to examine the other events which took place during the Fiosachd War. In the middle of the war in Deoch 18 Ramanayan became a regonized historian for his work "The Forgotten War". Using the clout he obtained from regonition he ran for the guardship of Mileth and was easily declared guard. He was one of Mileth's most dedicated guards. Ramanayan served three terms between Deochs 18 and 19.

Following the end of the Fiosachd War and with his guard terms now complete Ramanayan decided to use his powers as a regonized aisling to found a motley to continue the work of the Great Council on a larger scale. He searched far and wide to find a co-founder and eventually found one in the regonized historian Cronus Gainsbourough. Along with Great Council member Heiler and Fiosachd priest Topkyle the motley Imperium was founded near the end of Deoch 19. Just shortly before the founding of Imperium Ramanayan achived the 41st insight and crafted his own mantle.

Ramanayan himself had never been a member of any guild or motley so had to learn much about guilds in general and lead one at the same time. It was an interesting challenge but he was able to handle it. At the start Imperium was a great experiment trying out many forms of what the guild should be like. Members came and went and there was some troubles but in the end evreyone involved learned much to make Imperium better.

It was at this time that sevreal deochs eariler the despot Mileth Burgess Hollie, whose daughter and grand daughter were Rabecca and Cazia, was found guilty of a variety of crimes, inculding curruption and murder, and was eternally exiled from Temuair. With Hollie gone many new politicans rose to power and another currupt office holder caught Mileth by surprise. His name was Bridseye, now a judge, many called him deaf because he never listined during cases but always seemed to hang onto office. But on the other side Omner, the demagogue, was continuing along his own path to greatness. In a way these two sides balanced each other out for a time.

Since he had been guard for sevreal terms Ramanayan was very disasified with the current laws of Mileth. He had no fear in critizing the government for its failure to act on the current laws. Althouhg he himself was not holding any public office his guild mates became targets in politics and many were attacked and removed. Ramanayan posted an agressive comdemnation post of those who were attacking his guild member. Bridseye however, backed by currupt powers in the government, suceded in driving Ramanayan from Mileth for 40 days on false charges of intimidation.

After returning to Mileth Ramanayan was more then ever angered with the currupt goverment of Mileth and called for its overthrow. When it was gone Ramanayan said he wanted to restore liberities to the citizens of Mileth and reform the laws. While holding a rally at the Mileth college Ramanayan's supporters began going outside in Mileth way and began protesting and calling for the governments end. Once again the currupt goverment however secudded in driving from Mileth for 80 days on false charges of harassment and area blocking.

On his second return to Mileth Ramanayan decided it was time to seek office himself and challenge the currupt government. Bridseye it seemed was prepared for this and being the only judge in office attempted to have Ramanayan barred on a law he had interpreted, which really required no interpretation. Ramanayan prepared to defend himself in court which he did quite well on two occasions. But once again Bridseye made up false charges, that Ramanayan had been late to his second hearing, and ordered him banished for contempt of court. He also illegally ordered that Ramanayan be barred from holding citizenship. Once Ramanayan's return to Mileth soon after he obtained citizenship and was then exiled by another currupt judge, Xeron. No one in the government would stand up to these currupt officails for some time. Meanwhile Ramanayan plotted his comeback and at the same time built up Imperium and his contacts across Temuair.

While in exile from Mileth in Rucesion Ramanayan got Imperium going quite strong. The motley now had a message board and was growing all the time. He became regonized for the second time for his philosophy work "Grimlok and Goblins: Society, Social Structures, and Lore" during deoch 21. You might hear some various rable sources that Ramanayan had the intention of becoming emperor of Mileth. The truth is rather quite diffrent. It was his supporters, not he, that encouraged and spread the word that Ramanayan should become emperor. He accepted the title for guild related activities but never would think of becoming emperor, even if the people wanted it.

Meanwhile back in Mileth a well known officail finally stood up against Bridseye. She was Angelgal, a guard captain, who had been illlegally removed by Bridseye. Rather then have another judge handle the case the prosecution requested to the mundanes that Burgess Omner should be the judge. This was granted and Bridseye was put on trial. Found gulity he was barred from office. Although he did return to office at later points his power was forever broken.

Not long after Bridseye's fall Angelgal became a judge and quickly had Ramanayan unexiled in Deoch 23. On his third return to Mileth Ramanayan began teaching classes at the Mileth College more often then he had had before. Also he decided it was finally time to resume his career in politics. Shortly after returning to Mileth Ramanayan took office as a respected citizen and continued until he became a demagogue in early deoch 24.

Althought still at a young insight Ramanayan began acquiring the cloths of nobles from his many classes taught at the Mileth college. It was not long before Ramanayan became the college's most well known teacher. Finally in late deoch 24 Ramanayan was given the title of Lord by high councilor Jean of Loures for all his achievements. He would now forever be known as Lord Ramanayan Caesar.

Shortly before taking office as demagogue Ramanayan was given the job of Fair Coordinator and Marshal of the 5th Mileth Fair, the last which was held in Deoch 23 by Omner, whom had recently left Temuair. Ramanayan had organized numerous events for Imperium before and had become known for this as well. Quite early Ramanayan began planning and contacted the mundanes for some assistance. As time progressed the fair looked like it would be quite good.

It was decided that Imperium's motley status had become to small and the decesion was made to found a new guild, rather then a motley. Imperium was left as defuct, and later sold, as all members left the motley. Novus Imperia was founded a moon later by Ramanayan, Cronus, Morfeen, and Modius. Imperium, now Novus Imperia, would now be bigger and better then ever.

Just before the close of deoch 24 Ramanayan took office as demagogue of Mileth, joining along with sevreal other Novus Imperia members who had also taken an interest in politics. Mileth had perhaps recieved its greatest boon since the departure of Omner Garamonde. And so closed the stunning and spectalur deoch 24 in which Ramanayan, only then insight 75 at the time, rose from a minor regonized aisling and guild leader to one of the few Lords and among most respected and known aislings in all of Temuair.

Politics proved vicious the moment Ramanayan stepped into office. Hollie's legecy continued in the form of her daughter Rabecca and grand daughter Cazia. Although they themselves were not involved in politics much at that point they did funnel huge ammounts of clout over to certain officails whom they had control over. The first political test came when the Burgess Graynameade passed a controversal aisling act which made illegal plots "to take over a towns politics". All well and good but this law was so vague it and other sections in it would easily be abused. Cazia had her eyes on it and supported it. Ramanayan and his party voted nay but were unsessecful in blocking the laws passage.

Soon after the aisling act became law Mileth judge Axamander declared the law void with the support of Demagogue Ramanayan and fellow Novus Imperia member Burgess Morfeen because it violated the charter in some sections. Graynameade joined forces with Cazia's henchmen and lauched a surprise attack on Ramanayan and Morfeen. Forced to flee the city they regrouped and planned a counter attack in which Graynameade was defeated and removed by Ramanayan and her ally Babepowder suffered the same fate by Morfeen. Ramanayan's allies took the city and the law was removed.

During his early demagoguery career Ramanayan had a difficult time getting his legislation passed. Cazia's henchmen often used dirty tricks to get their way. His first success was with the Laws of Punishment which he revised to make illegal re-entering the city while under exile. The problem was rampent at the time and there was no law to prevent it. The legislation was proposed and Cazia's cohorts opposed it but their were enough good demagogue's yay votes to pass the law.

Soon during his third and fourth terms the time came to host the Mileth Fair. It was a grand spectacle even though many guilds did not bother to host any events out of arrogance. In any case the fair Ramanayan hosted was one of the best known. Even without mundane assistance the fair lasted a double moon, had sevreal quests and poetry reading, as well as dozens of aisling hosted event and merchant booths.

With political backing of many Ramanayan was triumpthly proclaimed Burgess shortly after the fair had ended. Ramanayan's first term in Mileth's highest office was mired with attacks from his political enemies, mainly Cazia's henchmen. Drktempler, the other burgess, was able to prevent any legislation from being passed. Ramanayan had proposed a law that would not allow those with certain criminal records to hold office, mainly arrest marks. It also went a ways in defining political barment. Ramanayan did not complete both of these goals until nearly 7 deochs later. However Ramanayan was equally prepared to block any of Cazia's proposals but she never did propose anything or have anything proposed by others.

After completing his Burgess term Ramanayan took another Demagogue inspit of false charges being planted against him by Cazia's goons. In the meantime Ramanayan had slowly been rising in insight and finally achived the 97th insight and aisling of talgonite status in early deoch 27. While giving redemption to Matrika Drtktempler, yet again a Burgess thanks to Cazia's dozens of clout slaves, sucedded in demoting and removing Ramanayan from office mainly because Ramanayan was not even aware he was being demoted. Now more then ever Ramanayan knew his enemey and planned accordingly.

Following his illegal removal from office Ramanayan decided once again to enter the guard force. While in his guard term Ramanayan filed charges against Drktempler but they were blocked by Cazia, now judge, and judge Erenthar, another officail under Cazia's spell. Undeterred Ramanayan returned to the Demagogery after his guard term and served out another three terms as demagogue while opposing evrey proposal by Cazia or one her henchmen. Ramanayan was protector of the aislings freedoms and liberties and many respected him for it.

During his return to the demagoguery Ramanayan finally decided to leave the Fiosachd Fellowship as it simply had become to currupt and mismanaged. Now following the ways of Luathas, god of divine knowledge, he eventually rose through the fellowship rank and became a cleric. Shortly following the clericship Ramanayan achived the status of master priest in late deoch 28. It was 15 deochs he took to finally master.

Finding he could do little but keep in check Cazia's power as a demagogue Ramanayan decided once again to stand for Burgess. Shortly after his seventh demagogue term in deoch 29 term he was again trumpthly proclaimed Burgess, and this time he held the office alone. On taking office Ramanayan imedaditly proposed revisions to sevreal laws. Cazia's men opposed them but Ramanayan simply ignoring their no-explantion objections declared them law per right of Burgess. The common aislings cheered at somthing good finally getting done in the government. Only the honorable demagogue Tarliant stood by Ramanayan's proposals while other dishonorable despots even attempted to attack him while watching the arena's blood tournament.

After accomplishing much during his term as Burgess Ramanayan decided to return to the guard force with the goal of becoming judge himself. Finding many criminals throughout Mileth Ramanayan was well knew as a swift but fair law enforcer, and one of the most conversative politcans in Mileth on issues such as heresy and sleephunting. As a guard Ramanayan took more time to relaxe from the many duties that he had as a demagogue and burgess. After all he was not getting any younger, now over 30 deochs old with his return to the guard force.

But as always events would not allow Ramanayan to take much of a break. Even as a guard he still controled much of Mileth's legislative branch. Ramanayan and Demagogue Izekiel watched with caution as former enemies Cazia and Riyan came together to work on a law regarding aislings with arrest marks and defining barment and probation. It was rather similar to the proposal Ramanayan had made during his first burgess term in deoch 26. However as with most Cazia sponsered proposals this law titled "Mileth Office Holders Mandatory Criteria" screamed curruption from the start. The inital drafts would not allow anyone with more then one arrest mark to hold any village office. Political barment and suspension were strict and would very easily be abused by Cazia and her followers.

Ramanayan seeing the danger to the liberties of the office holders dispatched a similar, but less insane, proposal to demagogue Izekiel who presented it on the floor of the demagogery. Demagogues Holly (Cazia's sister who was the proposals co-sponser with Riyan) and Riyan screamed plagarism, even though their own proposal seemed much Ramanayan's in deoch 26, and attacked Demagogue Izekiel directly in the commons and forced him out of office but not before taking great damages themselves.

Ramanayan now approaching his fourth guard term now saw the need for more allies and dispatched a message to leader of the guild Lost Souls, Shockage, who had suffered under Cazia's lover, Judge Beardog (who at the time Ramanayan actually considered a trusted friend). In any case the message proposed an alliance between Novus Imperia and Lost Souls due to the likelyhood of all out war with Anaman Pact, Shin Hwa, and Adorah Sinn. However the dispatch was intercepted and copied before reaching Shockage and Ramanayan was faced with a minor political scandel as it looked like he was plotting something. Ramanayan turned to sevreal friends who were also close to Cazia and attempted to tell them the truth about Cazia and turn them away. It seems that one was in denial (or ignorant) and the other, Beardog, willingly went along with Cazia's scemes.

Cazia, getting memories from those Ramanayan reached out to, attempted to have him charged with slander by the Judge Wastedd, once a good guard but now just another goon of Cazia. Wastedd actually attempted to have Ramanayan be prevented from collecting politcal clout. Although illegal Ramanayan humored him while still collecting clout for office as captain. Soon after the mundanes threw out the case and Ramanayan shortly after was declared guard captain.

All of Mileth trembled with the arrival of deoch 31. Lord Ramanayan Caesar and Shockage, the leaders of Novus Imperia and Lost Souls, signed a formal alliance between their two guilds. Ramanayan was also now a guard captain and making great progress with the guard force. As a guard captain he fairly settled cases accordly to the law and evidence, which upset many of the more liberal office holders. Cazia to became wary now that he would no doubt eventually sit in the judges chair. Cazia began planning her most dishonorable and immoral plan to date: Lord Ramanayan Caesar's disposal.

By the time his second captain term came around Ramanayan could tell things were slowly starting to be moving against him. Simple charges of improperly filing reports had been charged against him, but no action had been taken. Soon Cazia seemed to have corrupted the heart and soul of one Komeria, a rising demagogue. Together along with Beardog they filed pages of garbage (called "charges" and "crimes") and nonsense against Ramanayan. It seemed they had memories of everything Ramanayan had posted since entering politics. Beardog greatly abusing his powers quickly reviewed the evidence without even speaking to Ramanayan and ordered his exile and barment.

Seeing that there was almost no one left in Mileth to stand up to this Ramanayan decided to make a stand for a trial and prove what kind of a gog justice system Mileth had become. A trial was quickly granted and date set. Ramanayan planned his defense with his lawyer the Gramail High Priest Angelique. When the trial itself came as he expected Ramanayan found the jury rigged and even more charges had been dug up including some the treacherous Feena.

Undeterred Ramanayan let the trial proceed and showed to all of Temuair the stupidity and despotism that now controlled Mileth. The outcome was already decided before the trial even ended. The jury had already agreed on a verdict and sentence before the defense had its turn. The verdict was unanimously guilty on all nine charges. To Ramanayan it was no surprise and had every intention of going along with it for now. The sentence was a sgathing, 5 deoch exile, and permanent barment from politics. When summoned to the pit even the shadow hunger was shocked and sighed. "So they send me to claim even thou Ramanayan Magnus?" And so Lord Ramanayan Caesar let himself be claimed by the hunger in full noble uniform.

Starting with this many now began to turn on Cazia and her regime but getting through to the mundanes was more difficult. When several charges on Ramanayan were overturned by Cedric, shortly before he was struck down by Law, Cazia’s pawn Judge Beardog managed to keep all the original sentences as no one was around who could stop this. Cazia and Beardog went ahead with their planned “Temuair” Fair even though hardly anyone in Temuair was involved in hosting it except Cazia’s cronies and a few other exceptions.

Shortly after the Temuair Fair things began to fall apart little by little for Cazia’s regime. Ramanayan in Rucesion began using every resource and ally at nibble little by little away at Cazia. Slowly the process began to work and due to Cazia’s and Beardog’s intimidation and lies they began to unravel. Judge Toger Buu sacrificed his political record to bring forth many charges against Cazia, Beardog, and their families. To stop this required many judges and all of Cazia’s supporters had now unmasked themselves to everyone. Ranger Veneficus left Temuair as the mundanes overturned his arrest of Cazia. Manipulator and Mismom also left the ranger force in disgust at the mundanes.

Cazia’s demise continued as evidence of harassment and intimidation were floating around Temuair and to the mundanes. She even began attacking prominent aislings such as Lightmerlin when they stopped supporting her. The end was near when an arrest warrant was put out for Cazia for using Burgess Eduardo’s name in many of her intimidations. She had been warned but had continued.

Cazia and her family vanished for a time but when she returned she was promptly arrested by ranger Erenthar, who had now turned against her. Cazia then went mad with rage and attempted to declare herself in a sense Queen of Temuair. Her sister Rabecca took office as Burgess and burned all the Mileth Laws and attempted to post a “Freedom Law” to win support of the common aislings. Beardog followed her faithfully to the end although denying involvement despite it being blatantly obvious.

For a very short time there was some chaos in Mileth as Cazia saw her plan to win support had failed she began to remove and even sgath old enemies. Despite this the damage she caused was little and was easy to repair. Finally the end came when mundane guards sent the families of Cazia and Beardog into eternal exile from Temuair. All the damage was repaired and the laws restored. Now for the first time in a long time Mileth was free at last – or so it seemed.

Shortly after Cazia’s grand finale Ramanayan quickly had his case reviewed and the previous ruling tossed out. The mundanes also assisted in removing the sgath scar. Although Cazia and Beardog were now gone Ramanayan knew that many of their supporters remained although not all of them in office now that the clout supply was gone.

Forced to restart his political record from scratch Ramanayan at first had his proposals proposed through friends and allies within the demagoguery. Among his first acts was to remove the oppressive “Office Holders Mandatory Criteria” he had fought so hard against deochs earlier. Cazia’s formers supporters opposed it but now Ramanayan’s party controlled the Demagoguery.

When Ramanayan himself finally returned to the Demagoguery he had no shortages of proposals and nearly all were passed by the Demagoguery. Modern Mileth Law is for the most part was created by the efforts of Lord Ramanayan Caesar. Meanwhile Cazia’s former supporters faded from the scene as they attempted to regroup. Judge Shockage returned triumphantly to office as suffering under Cazia while other office holders began attacking Cazia’s few remaining supporters who held office.

While Ramanayan held firm control of the Demagoguery the judiciary branch was another story, mostly populated by former Cazia supporters. Slowly Ramanayan had begun stripping the guard captains and judges of powers and covertly handing them over to the Demagoguery in a variety of proposals and law reforms. Finally Ramanayan made his move when he declared in a revision of the Laws of Punishments that the Demagoguery could now at its discretion issue pardons were the facts made clear: The judicial branch of Mileth was answerable to the Demagoguery. Shortly after this acting on intelligence Judge Riyan would attempt to make removing opponents from office illegal Ramanayan had the political power legislation added as a charter addition – keeping it away from a judge.

Ramanayan continued his reforms throughout his terms. The common citizens rejoiced when the former Burgess Gandy was pardoned, under direction by Ramanayan. Gandy had suffered under Riyan with the support of Cazia deochs earlier and had been living in flight since.

Meanwhile Cazia’s supporters had regrouped and were ready for their final attempt to retake power. It began when the Burgess Nyie took office and at once removed the Temuair Law Establishment in Mileth Guidelines law that Ramanayan had passed two deochs earlier which finally defined barment, probation, and aislings with arrest marks in holding office. Many suspected Nyie had removed the law so his brother NyLe could take office in Mileth, as before he could not because of three sleephunting arrest marks. Ramanayan moved quickly bringing up a vote to block Nyie’s actions in the Demagoguery and have the law restored. Despite this Ramanayan faced a dilemma – there was nothing in Mileth law that would prevent Nyie from simply removing the law again and forcing yet another moon long blocking vote.

To counter this problem Ramanayan proposed the Liberty Act, a charter addition, which, in the future would require a Burgess to inform the Demagoguery a moon before he took any actions “Per Right of Burgess” thus allowing the Demagoguery to block it before it was actually carried out. The last of Cazia’s former supporters came in for this final political showdown using the last of their clout reserves. In the end Ramanayan was forced to give much of his own clout over to other aislings so they to could vote on the proposals. Fortunately for Mileth Ramanayan succeeded in both laws by exactly a 2/3rds majority vote in favor, as required by the charter. This is considered the last final gasp of Cazia’s former supporters. Mileth was now firmly in the hands of Ramanayan’s party.

Despite being physically and mentally drained from the non-stop demagogue terms of the past two deochs Ramanayan was for the third time proclaimed Burgess of Mileth in Deoch 37. Ramanayan had intended to preside over the dismantling of the Province of Mileth and be the founder of a glorious new Republic of Mileth so he started writing a new charter. This however was far in the future and Ramanayan to found the Republic during his fourth Burgess term which he did not intend to take for some time.

Ramanayan’s first act as Burgess was the passage of the Officials Intimidation Act which now made it a crime to attempt to insult, threaten, or harass any Mileth official for doing their job. The law had the desired effect and harassment of officials slowly began to drop. Lord Ramanayan Caesar’s final proposal at the time of the publishing of this biography was the “Praetor Decree” which would allow Demagogues and Burgesses to act as guard captains when the number of guard captain and judges in office fell to low. This law quickly passed into law and Ramanayan intended to stand for the Praetorship. However many in the judiciary branch mad with jealously attempted to stop the Praetor decree using the one power Ramanayan had yet to strip from them. Judge Weakest declared the law void per judges right. Ramanayan quickly retaliated to pass the law as a charter amendment but shortly after making this proposal he suffered a mild stroke and was much dimishished in the weeks to come. Without his support and campaigning the Praetor Decree fell.

Loures physicians said the cause of the stroke had been stress and strain from years in politics and fighting Cazia and thus recommended he take a break from these stressful activities. While recovering at his villa outside Loures Ramanayan was offered command of an expeditionary force of Loures that would be heading to establish claims in Western Temuair. When well enough to travel Ramanayan accepted this offer and soon after was formally given the title of “Governor”.

Though suffering a stoke Ramanayan took a thirteenth demagogue term anyway despite he did not return to Mileth until fourteenth has just begun. His last official position in Mileth politics was his very little known appointment as Mileth’s Lead Counselor. Earlier the demagogue Ivanov proposed and passed a law setting up official lawyers that could handle cases in Mileth when a victim or defendant requested one.
