They used to walk among us. Roaming, killing and feeding at will. Their existence as still as the shadows and as black as the night. Now they are no more. How did this come to be? To tell that tale, we must venture 200 years and reccount the life of a vampire whose soul would alays be.

SYNOPSIS
Beginning in the not too distant future, we open in the city where Daniel a young man sits in an empty office with the mysterious Louis. He presses record on a dictaphone as Louis confesses that he is now the last vampire alive. Daniel listens intentely to the story.

Slowly, creatures appear from within the buildings and the city comes to life. Suddenly a vampire named Lestat emerges and the clock ticks back as the city transforms back 200 years to 18th Century Louisiana and all the future vampires transform back to the original attire.

Louis sits in his room, slowly dying as his maid Yvette cares for him. Lestat sees this and rushes up to Louis and kills him, tranforming him into a vampire.

Louis walks down into his garden where he suddenly sees the world through a vampire's eyes, the statues and greenery coming to life. Lestat eagerly watches Louis.

Louis spots a young girl named Claudia mourning her dead mother's tomb stone. He comforts her but suddenly feels inclined to drink her blood. He restrains himself but Lestat pushes him into it. Louis kills Claudia then goes to flee, but before he can go Lestat transforms Claudia into a vampire. Louis now feeling abliged to care for the child, stays with Lestat.

The three enter Louis's mansion where a ball is being held. Vampires lure the place taking the lives of maids and other victims. Lestat cruelly beats Yvette, Louis's maid and while Louis is too far away to stop it, kills her.

Louis rushes down to take his vengeance but before he can, Claudia poisons Lestat who fall. Louis takes Lestat's body and dumps it into the Swamp. The creatures of the swamp surround the body and feast upon the remains.

Now alone together, Louis and Claudia leave their home to find more of their kind in Paris. On a street they meet Santiago, who lures them into an underground lair.

In the lair they find a cruel group of vampires led by Armanda. Armanda takes an immediate interest in Louis and he to her. Claudia is taken by Santiago and Louis does not even notice. He dances with Armanda until suddenly he sees Claudia gone.

Santiago takes Claudia and throws her into a well open to the sun. The sunlight shines down and Claudia burns. Louis rushes to save her but arrives too late and she is nothing but ash.

Louis, furious, takes his vengeance upon the Parisian vampires. He burns them and their lair killing them all and making him the last.

We return to the future where Louis finishes his story. He offers Daniel the choice, to live a normal life or die and become an immortal yet tormented vampire forever. Daniel chooses the life of a vampire and Louis, furious that Daniel did not take in a word of his advice goes to kill him then suddenly vanishes.

Daniel composes himself and quickly leaves the office. As he walks down the city streets all kinds of creatures follow, and then suddenly....
