The aim of this website is to publish the genealogy of the dynasties and aristocratic families of Maldives not to rewrite history.

In 1968 Maldives has changed her form of government from a monarchy to a republic. During these 36 years, Maldives has being a republic. This change was an essential effect on people's interest on genealogy

Former monarchies are an indissociable part of any country’s history and traditions: that is why we are undertaking this unique compilation of royal dynasties and aristocratic families of Maldives.

Unlike Maldives most modern countries acknowledge the historical status of their former ruling families, at least informally, as an indissociable part of their identity.
