Sometimes I Wish the World would Implode...
Home

So I was talking to my roommate one day about someone we both know and despise (let's call him Jim for the record). For like three years now, Jim has been writing [crappy] music in order to become famous one day. Finally, last year, he formed a band, and this year it just started to pick up (according to him).

Just to give you all a picture, this is the kind of guy who acts all tough, worships the show jackass, and sings like he is God's gift to women. In the three years that I've known this guy, he has liked all sorts of music, especially pop-punk music like Blink 182 and Good Charlotte. Apparently, he has totally turned his approach on life and deems this music as "SELLOUT" music. While I don't disagree with him there, especially about Blink 182, WHO THE F*CK REALLY CARES! These bands go through a lot of sh*t to get their albums on the shelves and it's not their fault their music is so popular that it makes it on TRL.

Okay, now to the part that I'm pissed off about. Jim was for the war on Iraq. While all these other people in America didn't want the war, he said that it was neccessary to invade. Back in April I believe, Shippensburg students were holding an anti-war concert somewhere in town. Jim had claimed that he wanted to play at this concert even though he wasn't "anti-war." He just wanted his band to be noticed by the Shippensburg students. I guess he was tired of playing to only 10 people per show. But anyway, selling out of this magnitude is uncalled for and idiotic. If I had any respect for Jim before, it has been taken away forever. At least the bands on TRL didn't lie to get famous. They actually have some talent and that's why they are popular. They didn't have to lie about their political stance to become famous. If Jim ever becomes a rock star, I will blow up the world for being so stupid as to like his trash.
