First group or row going down is the Alkali Metals, the second group is the Alkaline-earth metals, from group 3-12 or the middle groups is Transition metals.
Aluminum, Gallium, Indium, Tin, Thallium, lead, Bismuth, and Polonium are other different kinds of metals.
Boron, Silicon, Germanium, Arsenic, Antimony, and Tellurium are the Metalloids
Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Selenium are Nonmetals and Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine, iodine, and Astatine are also nonmetals or Halogens
And the last group or group 18 are the Noble Gases
Hydrogen is not considered in any certain group.
Elements up to the 92nd one occur naturally. They were created in the interior of stars in deep space. Other elements are made in laboratories with technology and human ingenuity.
