My name is Kathleen (Kathy) Hale. I am 55 years old, married, with two grown children and two grand children.
I am currently the Vice President of Quality/Risk Management for a community hospital in Upstate New York. I have worked for my current employer for 35 years. I started as a staff nurse and advanced to a Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department, House Supervisor, Associate Vice President of Nursing to my present position as Vice President of Quality.
I received my Associates Degree in Nursing in 1968, my Bachelors in Nursing in 1979 and my Masters in Healthcare Administration in 1999.
I have matriculated to the University of Phoenix online in order to prepare myself for early retirement and a second career. I have always been interested in teaching and thought the University of Phoenix could prepare me to secure a position as a teacher at our local community college or public school.
What is unique about me is that I’m not really sure what I want to be when I grow up. I am so disillusioned with the bureaucracy of the healthcare system that I know I want out. Enough is enough.
In my spare time, which is limited, I can be found in the garden or on the golf course. I also love to spend as much time as I can with my grandchildren.
