4 november Almost there
The sands of time are running low to the Ironmaiden concert at ahoy Rotterdam. I' am getting very excited about it . Sure they will deliver big time but i am also hoping that the are going to play some older stuff. (not to old :P) sign of the cross ,blood brothers ,clansman and so on. But naturally the new songs are going to be accepted with great joy .Especially dance of death(titel song) and no more lies . It is going to fill almost the whole day travelling to rotterdam and we will be there a bit early just to make sure that we will make it there alive:P .And we can see a bit of Rotterdam ,never bin in the city itself only on passing trough .And for ahoy the same ,never bin there too. I can imagine that the sound is different at an open air festival like fields of rock(nijmegen) or ozzfest or pink pop(landgraaf) Soon i will put a full report of the concert itself just for my pleasure (isnt that always:P)I am very excited like i just said and expect a great show and i hope that they dont have an off day when i see them . (offcourse not:P duhh!!:P)

metallica s new bass player
The leaving of Jason Newsted from metallica hurted my opinion of metallica as a union .It doesn't feel right ,and I see it as a giant loss for the music world and metallica itself. There are very different reasons mentioned from both sides and the media ,the real reason is probably a bit from everything that is released in the press. I've heard that Jason had a vision that he wouldn't be happy if he stayed with metallica, and another reason that has reached the media is that he was suffering physicly from all the touring (drugs?? ) and there are unlimited other reasons called, but they doent mather any more . I for one keep thinking(and praying ) that he will come back and that it all was a trick to make a big revival with the original band(original as possible because Cliff Burton was killed in a tourbus accident and Jason was his replacement ). I still keep thinking that jason comes back .Some day it is going downwards financially with the band and then they are going to get back at old traditions to keep their audience . Dont get me wrong ,Roberto Trujillo is a very good bass player ,but he just doesn't fit in like Jason . But still i've seen them live this summer ,and they deliver !! (better then the cd ,but isnt that always?) I like to see more of them and i prefer with Jason Newsted!! but Robert could potentially be a real metallicat ,but it is to early to say if he has it in him, I remember that Jason Newsted was their scapegoat ,so the audience must give Robert a chance cause metallica will be hard enough on him . you will be hearing from me or better from metallica :D

metallica vs ironmaiden
metallica s new album:st anger let me start to say that it is good to know that they still can play riffs ,but it isn,t a masterpiece and frankly i was expecting that ,after all the ballads they now where going to make a real metal album ,but instead the made something that sounds like u FU*IN demo tape ,without any solos :S. I almost thought that only one guitar is plugged in .maybe james has wrecked his arm with needles just like megadeth s dave mustaine. I sure hope not , I am very happy that they keep playing there old stuff .it is almost like they know that there newest album just a tour financer is:P lol
Ironmaiden
Ironmaiden 's newest album is called dance of death At first i found the name a little strange for a metal album .But when you listen to the titelsong ,also called dance of death (duh!) you understand why it is called dance of death . The song starts with a rythm like a very slow dance and somwhere in the middle is a riff that brought pictures in my mind of a bruce dickinson jumping and doing weird just like on the rock in rio DvD . I look forward to the gig in a couple of weeks in Ahoy Rotterdam Netherlands so i can see if he does that. but that is not the reason to go to their gig offcourse I am a very big van of all their music. the melody and the songtext just always deliver and can let you get goosebumps .Almost every feeling ,emotion ,or mental condition are reflected i a song . So you can always listen to something what follows your current emotion. The fact that the stories from the songs come from old books an go way back gives a multiple layer to their songs . If you are a metal freak or a poetry fan , you may like ironmaiden but you have to listen to the whole spectrum , i mean dont judge if you've just listened only one album ,they 've had their periods of less quality , But my opinion is that dance of death is a stap in the good direction for maiden right now and i look forward to their live gig , and more albums for in the future . up the irons Newer | Latest | Older |
