This is a poem that the 101st wrote to war protesters! Thanks to WTOL For this!

"Wish You Were Here"

For all the free people that still protest. Your Welcome.
We protect you and are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud, but who will fight for you?
No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, sons, wearing the boots and carrying guns
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die
We might not be able to save the world,
Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at so when you rally your group to complain,
Take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly,
Wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs, and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the comflict is over and all is well,
be thankful we chose to go through hell.

Strength and Courage

It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubts.
It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.
It takes strength to share a friend's pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.
It takes strength to hide your own pain,
It takes courage to show it and deal with it.
It takes strength to stand guard,
It takes courage to let down your guard.
It takes strength to conquer,
It takes courage to surrender.
It takes strength to endure abuses,
It takes courage to stop them.
It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on a friend.
It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to be loved.
It takes strength to survive,
It takes courage to live.
May you find strength and courage in everything you do,
And may your life be filled with Friendship and Love.
