INFO: Captains schedule games on agreeable time. Email me time to reserve field. Quahog and Slammers have agreed to Monday May 3 Lunch
Rosters cannot be changed once bracket begins. As long as you have let me know about a roster change, it's good even if it's not on the site rosters.
Since captains are choosing times, no subs are allowed...
Non-bracket games can go on as long as no bracket game is scheduled..
WINNERS get WBC1 Tee-Shirts, among other things (and respect)
Still needing wiffleball money...
As you can see, only 14 teams are signed up, giving 2 first-round byes.
If you know an interested team, let me know, and if the first round is still going on, we can add them....

Donations from: Kafka, DSandler, Tilis, Alhadef, El-Effendi, and Klein have been much appreciated.

Quahog looked good to start the game. After questionable fielding by Addison and nice hits by the Clams, Quahog jumped out to a 3-1 lead heading into the 4th and final inning. But Addison led off with 8 straight hits, 2 by each player, on the way to a 6 run 4th inning and a 7-3 win.

In front of a record crowd, CORE jumped out to a 5-1 lead with 4 extra base hits during a rowdy second inning. SALSA then responded with a 4 run third to tie the game at 5. P Jarron Smith settled down and held CORE scoreless every inning except the second. In the 4th, Colby Ray's second triple of the game set up Free Agent AKi Khan's game-winning RBI single. SALSA held off CORE in the bottom of the fourth after an intelligent intentional walk of always-dangerous Philip Kafka.

Stud Jason Klein dominated by knocking in all 3 of his teams runs while hitting the first home run of the season. But did he stop there? No. He did not. Klein also pitched a marvelous 5-hitter and gave up only one run while striking out 4. Jason is also a straight A student.

Apparently the Dawgs (wearing uniforms that included ties and slacks) outhit Addison 6-3, but it did not matter because of Kaufman's pitching (ERA now 2.00) and Addison's fielding. Addison made timely plays in the field, including a shoestring catch by Turlington, a full-extension block by Bodzy and a make-it-look-easy snag by Kaufman off the trees to finish the game. In the loss, Sandler went 3-4 as the shining star for the Dawgs.

Apparently the Dawgs (wearing uniforms that included ties and slacks) outhit Addison 6-3, but it did not matter because of Kaufman's pitching (ERA now 2.00) and Addison's fielding. Addison made timely plays in the field, including a from-the-other-side-of-the-world shoestring catch by Turlington, a there-might-be-a-rock-there-so-I-will-use-full-extension block by Bodzy and a make-it-look-easy-even-though-the-trees-are-right-in-my-face snag by Kaufman to finish the game. In the loss, Sandler went 3-4 as the shining star for the Dawgs.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

4 players per team, up to 7 if you want subs
4 innings per game
2 outs per inning
4 balls reset the count, 8 balls for a walk, hit batsman is a ball
Pitchers can be chosen/switched at any time
Fielders must stand outside 10 foot radius of batter
Batting team also provides catcher, if a catcher catches a foul tip it is not an out
Suggested third party regulator to umpire
Wiffle-ball is not an exact science
See map for zone descriptions
Pitcher should never throw at full speed. "It will wreck your arm" - Dr. Klein
On no-wind days, pitches will be a tad faster
Pitcher throws from between Rocks 1 and 2
Runners advance as many bases as batter advances
There is no running, zones designate hits
Games will be played during bagel break and lunch primarily, but not limited to these times, especially for seniors
Sacrifice flies - any double or farther fly ball out with man on third and not on first
Double plays - any fly ball out with man on first
Any ball off any roof cannot be caught for an out after rolling down roof
No equipment other than wiffle-ball and bat may be used
catches are outs, in any zone
Knocker: position player who stands in "stone" region
Purpose of knocker is to knock any ball down in front of stone for an out; otherwise batter can get a grounder single.
If a knocker knocks ball in front of him and it rolls foul, it is an out
Other fielders cannot knock a ball down into a lower zone; if it hits a fielder in the triple zone and falls into double zone, it's a triple
