What is this? This is a comic book I made back in 1997. It's the fifth episode in the Coy saga (there are five in total). I made Coy 4 available on my web site for quite some time now. It is recommended that you read it first before tackling Coy 5. You can read Coy 4 here. Coy 5, while still having somewhat outdated artwork, it's undoubtably better-looking than Coy 4. In fact, the art gets better and better as the story moves on. Also the fact I ditched lined paper helped a lot! ;) Plot-wise, Coy 5 is a solid and enjoyable experience, although I acknowledge the flow of the story is not as smooth as I would have liked it to be. Still, Coy 5 is -in my humble opinion- much better than its predecessor. So, if you liked Coy 4, you will love this new installment of the series! :D

Notes on translation I'm Argentinian, so Coy 5's original language is Spanish. I translated it to English to the best of my abilities. I had the invaluable help of Ricky St. Claire and CtrlAltDestroy in this task. However, the language barrier is still there. You may -and probably will- run into many syntax errors. However, I believe no error is bad enough as to prevent you from understanding the plot. Onomatopoeias (Thud! Slam! Bang! and the such) were left untranslated. Also, I changed a couple of names to make this version more friendly to English-speaking readers. The files are highly compressed JPGs (level set at 0 in Photoshop). The artwork survives this to a certain extent, but you will notice some fuzzyness around letters. It had to be done this way. I have to keep files as small as possible because of restricted web space and bandwith.

The characters Here are the profiles for the most prominent characters in this story. Again, I made this in 1997. Don't expect stunning artwork nor amazing character designs. The pictures are outdated, but the plot is still quite solid and enjoyable.
	COY He's the hero of this story. Coy is a sentient snail from a far-away planet called Snailworld. He is best friends with John, with whom he fought side to side in many battles against evil. Coy has a strong sense of justice. He will always fight the forces of evil, whatever form they take.
	JOHN (original name: Facundo) He's the other main character. Born a human, John found his path in life when he met Coy, and he has never avoided a battle against evil since then.
	MARIAH (original name: María) Mariah is a normal young woman who lives a normal life in Buenos Aires city. That is until her grandfather (an archaelogist who works for a museum) gets involved with an ancient scroll bearing a strange serpent emblem...
	NICODEMOS Nicodemos is Bhan and Almedor's father. He was also the former Lord of the Planetoid. Nicodemos was thought dead for the longest time and, in fact, he hasn't yet revealed he is still among the living. He prefers to keep a low profile. However, the rise of the Ohrboux Clan will force him to think it over...
	SUPREME WARRIORS Reptarr, Blade and the others are also making a return in Coy 5, joining in the battle against the resurrected clan of darkness. There are also three all-new Supreme Warriors: the ones guarding the White, Grey, and Black Flames!
	SYO AXENN This mysterious man is the Lord of the Ohrboux Clan. He is after the Scepter of the Gods, which is a relic with mystical powers involving life and death. What he intends to do with it, nobody knows...
	HAPHNE This young man is one of the warriors at Syo Axenn's service. Althought he is a very powerful fighter, he dislikes fighting and violence in general.
	VANDOR Another warrior at Syo Axenn's service. His first mission is to find all pieces of the scepter at planet Earth. Quite the opposite of Haphne, Vandor is full of himself, and thinks he is above all those "weak and puny humans".
	SPECTER-A This hooded person is Syo Axenn's assistant. Not much else is known about him...
