Updates: 11/06/03 - Characters and Countries sections uploaded, all sections under construction

Fire Emblem IV: Genealogy of the Holy War, also called Descent of Jihad and Genealogy of the Crusade, was created by Intelligent Systems in 1996 and published in Japan by Nintendo for the Super NES. The fourth installment in the popular Fire Emblem series, it introduced a new plotline and setting from the previous three games, following the exploits of the Prince Sigurd and his son Selis on the continent of Jugdral. Though a strategy game at heart, it includes several roleplaying conventions such as drama, romance, political intrigue, and an intricately woven plot.

Never released in the United States, it has nonetheless gained its own following due to the enterprising efforts of some translation and SNES emulation projects such as J2E Renegade. American interest in the Fire Emblem series also surged due to the inclusion of the characters Marth and Roy into the Nintendo Gamecube's Super Smash Bros. Melee. While Fire Emblem 4 doesn't include either of those characters, it still remains a stunning game worthy of a look.
