Fate Chasers

The Fate Chasers is a roleplaying guild for Kender Chat.  Created by Felljammer (also known as Arkos or Daos) in an attempt to bring back the art of roleplaying and the long forgotten virtue of imagination back to the KC.  The Fate Chasers are led by Arkos Dragonclaw, a soldier turned sellsword who wanted to make a difference in bringing the balance between good and evil back into order.  Depressed by the climbing power of Evil, the waning strength of Good, and the inactiveness of Neutrality--Arkos wondered what he could do to help.  Gathering like-minded souls, he formed the Fate Chasers:  A mercenary guild dedicated to helping the people of Krynn and fighting off the legions of darkness.  Members of this guild wear amethyst broaches, showing their allegiance  to the Fate Chasers Guild.

The Fate Chasers are as much an OOC guild as an IC guild.  The Fate Chasers are dedicated to those who wish to roleplay and have fun, rather than number crunch Dungeons and Dragons stats.  That's what campaigns are for.  Fate Chasers look out for one another, both IC and OOC, to help ensure the art of freeforming stays alive.

The rules of joining the Fate Chasers are as follows:

1.  Freeformed Characters only.  The character cannot have any stats whatsoever, including levels, ability scores, saving throws, attack ratings, and modifiers.  All battles are freeformed and are not to rely on dice whatsoever.  We want you to focus more on having fun than being bogged down in math.

2.  No Munchkins Allowed.  The Fate Chasers won't tolerate munchkinism of any kind.  If all you care about is winning battles and earning 'Ph4+ l3W+', then you need not bother applying.

3.  Dragonlance Characters only.  As Kender Chat is a Dragonlance settings, players may not submit Forgotten Realms or Grayhawk characters to Fate Chasers.  If it can't be found on Krynn, it won't be found in the guild.  This includes orcs, drow, lycanthropes, and psionics.  However, any other DL character may join regardless of class and race.

4.  No player may have more than one character in the guild at any time.  This is to discourage those who would play half the roster in an attempt to gain political control of the guild, as sometimes happens in other guilds.

5.  Only characters of good or neutral alignment may join.  I have nothing personal against evil characters, particularly those that are played well.  But I feel like there are too few good characters nowadays.  Besides that, the leader of the guild is Lawful Good, so he wouldn't tolerate evils in his guild.

6.  All members must wear the amethyst broach.  Where you wear it is up to you.  You can wear it as a pendant, as an amulet, even engrave it onto your sword hilt.  This gem represents the commitment to your fellow members and to the virtues of the Fate Chasers:  Friendship, Adventure, and Righteousness.

Code of the Fate Chasers

Friendship - The Fate Chasers isn't just a guild, but also a brotherhood.  Even if you aren't into having lots of quests and adventures, the Fate Chasers is useful for meeting new characters and interacting with them.  Members of the Fate Chasers are strongly encouraged to interact with other members.  Camaraderie and fellowship are important to us.  It's all about roleplay.

Adventure - Who wants to sit around drinking tea all day?  I mean, if that's your thing.  But I can do that in real life.  Part of roleplaying is adventure and having fun.  Members can at any time propose a quest--either a planned one or a spontaneous one.  You can post on the forums and have a big quest at a set time, or just round up all the current members online and do something off the cuff.  Because all members are freeformed, one doesn't need to take into consideration challenge level.

Righteousness - Do right.  Help people.  Evil characters are not allowed in the guild because part of the purpose of the Fate Chasers is to balance out all the evil characters and organizations.  Neutral characters are allowed, only if they don't mind doing good deeds.  Although the Fate Chasers don't insist on working for pay, they do ask for donations to help keep their organization going.  It's not at all unheard of, however, for the Fate Chasers to do a deed for free.
