Appearance: Barlemus is a twenty-three year old goblinslayer. His eyes are cornflower blue and his hair is short, sandy blond; the color of barley. He is a muscular lad, having spent his childhood swimming and sword-playing. Normally, he is seen in his rusting, second-hand chain mail and torn, stained brown cloak. He usually smells bad due to all his exposure to goblins (despite the fact that he does bathe occasionally).  He has two main weapons. The first is a warhammer which is strapped to his back. The second is a pretty beat-up looking broadsword which rests on his right hip (a gift from his old master). A knife is hidden in his boot, but rarely does he use it. He wears rusty, clanking chain mail, a padded leather cap, and carries a medium shield with a crest showing two parallel blue fish facing opposite directions. He only uses the shield with his sword, since the warhammer requires two hands to wield.  His belt and boots are both made from goblin skin that was cured into a leather.

Personality: Barlemus is an innocent, naive young man. He is brave, but this bravery often stems from ignorance of danger. Having never received a formal education, he isn't the brightest guy in the world. He lacks common sense, is impatient, and is completely unable to save money. Barlemus has a good heart, though, and likes helping people. He seems to have an attraction toward red heads. Unfortunately, these women always seem to be bad luck for him. He has a strong sense of justice, and feels the need to help people whenever he can. He is very prejudice against Elves, as he feels somewhat intimidated by them.   

History: Barlemus was raised in the tiny town of Torros, a fishing village on the west coastline. One day, a traveling goblin hunter named Gustivin arrived and at the inn for a few days. Barlemus, tired of life in Torros, wanted to seek adventure and excitement. Also, he couldn't fish out of a barrel, so was quite out of place in Torros. Gustivin agreed to take the boy with him, as his apprentice.

On the way to the city of Tennic, the two were ambushed by a pair of ogres. After he escaped, he traveled for two weeks, spending every copper he had on food and lodging until he finally reached Tennic, in hopes of finding his teacher waiting for him. Since he had never before left his home, everything seemed new and exciting to him--even something as commonplace here as an elf or dwarf. While Barlemus waited for his teacher to show up, he carved a life for himself out of goblinhunting. He stayed at the inn on what little money he could earn, selling his services to anyone who needed some goblins exterminated. He holds no racial hatred of the creatures, he simply kills them as part of his job. Gustivin never showed up, though. 

After six years, Barlemus finally decided his teacher, was not coming. He packed his things, and set off to return to Torros. To his shock and dismay, he found the town in smoking ruins. There were no bodies, nor any sign of who attacked or where the residents were taken. Having no leads, and now no home, he returned to Tennic and hopes to unravel this mystery somehow.

Having no leads and now no home, Barlemus returned to Tennic.  He's trying to build up enough gold to launch an investigation of what happened to his town.

He become acquainted with a young prostitute named Sidera.  He finally succeeded in convincing her to give up her unlawful lifestyle and join the Priesthood of Daeoro.

Recently, he left on a quest (alone) to find his missing family and learn the true fate of his home town.  He has not been seen since.
