Asool

Appearance:  Asool has a very demonic look.  He is 5'8" with crimson skin.  He has cruel lips, sharp fangs and claws, and horns on his forehead.  He wears leather armor--not for protection, but more for cover.  His eyes are yellow slits, and there is a third one on his forehead that only opens when he absorbs a soul.

Personality:  Asool's personality can be summed up in two words:  Pure Evil.  He is a servant of Kulak, created to gather souls for his dark master.  He is cruel, deceptive, and manipulative.  He preys on weak-willed beings, and uses them as pawns in his schemes.

History:  About 50 years ago, Asool was accidentally let loose onto this world.  For two decades, he collected souls and grew more and more powerful.  However, a young cleric of Azedeth named Estrel Stargazer stood against the demon.  He managed to free the souls inside Asool and seal him away inside a magical book.  The book was put in the hands of a powerful mage for safekeeping, but over the decades it found its way to a renegade elf pagan named Calandra Dyvene.  She brought it to the necromancer Zhenthil, and he released Asool.  Still weak, Asool posed as a genie until he could trick Calandra into selling him her soul.  He then became strong enough to break free of Estrel's spell.  He bound Calandra's soul to the Abyss, making it a conduit of dark energy.  In other words, he made her soul a constant portal to the Abyss.  WIth all that dark energy pouring into the mortal world, Asool is invincible.  As long as he holds that connection to his home plane, he cannot be bound by the rules of mortality.

Who knows what evil schemes he is laying out now.
