In the case of Tama-chan, the animal already has the name "Tama-chan" and he is known to a lot of people, including little kids. Some of them love him very much and they might even regard him like as their lovely pet. They would be very sad and get furious if Tama-chan was caught to be killed. However, when it comes to the marine mammals in the ocean, how are they different from the cattles which are kept on a farm? How could I say that we should not catch marine mammals to kill and use them? While I eat beef, pork, chiken, and many kinds of fish in the ocean, just same as marine mammals.
