the Rundown

This is the third movie that the Rock has been in and let me start by saying that this is by far his best yet. I have seen both "the Mummy Returns" and "the Scorpion King", and while I really enjoyed both, "the Rundown" just blows them both out of the water.

The plot to "the Rundown" is somewhat generic, as it seems to be done over and over. The Rock's character, Beck, is in some sort of debt to the father of Travis (played by the ultra-hilarious Seann William Scott) and he wants out. Beck is told that he can get out on one condition: He bring his son, Travis, to him.

As Beck goes into the deep jungles searching for Travis, you know it's not going to be a "get him and get out" sort of deal, as the movie is not only twenty minutes long. So Beck goes in and has some trouble getting Travis out, which results in lots of action and comedy.

Christopher Walken plays the best villain, as Rosario Dawson also plays a nice, but tough, sort of female sidekick to Beck and Travis.

I enjoy action movies, but even moreso, I enjoy action movies with comedy. This is the best action/comedy movie I think I have ever seen and I really enjoyed the ending. The Rock is a big guy, so it's very easy for him to pull off the action star role. Well, maybe it isn't that easy for him, but he makes it look easy. The Rock is also very, very entertaining.

The next Rock movie is set to co-star Johnny Knoxville, Ashley Scott and David McNorris from NBC's "Boomtown" and I must just imagine that the only thing that could beat this movie, "the Rundown", is that one.
