Fahrenheit 9/11

I will be the first to admit that I am biast. I do not like George W. Bush, the things he has done for (or to) this country and I sincerely hope that he does win the election in November.

With that being said, this was such a great movie. Not only does it expose George W. Bush for the man that he is, but it does it in such a manner that anyone can understand it. I find it very hard to believe that anyone would see this movie and still feel like they wanted to vote for W. this year.

The only problem I have with this movie is that it was a bit long. There were some parts (maybe fifteen to twenty minutes worth of content) that could have been cut out and this movie would have had the same effect. I remember numerous shots of congressmen and just people in suits in general walking around and talking. Where does it all lead to? What was the point of that? I'm sure it was to demonstrate something, but the meaning was lost on me. I think that part of the movie dragged and they should have edited it.

Hands down the best part of this movie though was when the mother of a soldier who died in Iraq went to the White House and got into a fight with another lady. The lady yelled that because of the cameras, this was all staged and none of it was real. Then, she told her not to blame George W. Bush, but to blame Al Quada. The ignorance of people in this country at times amazes even me. I can't believe people could have such an attitude toward things.

To summarize this movie in one sentence or less, the main fact a lot of people have been making about Fahrenheit 9/11 is that it's very one sided. Michael Moore admits that it's one sided, and hey, why shouldn't it be? If you want to see the other side of this story, just put on Fox News, CNN or anything other news program really. They're the ones who are glorifying this war, which is in the movie related as being the next Vietnam. Michael Moore has brought us Roger & Me, Bowling For Columbine and The Awful Truth, and I think that as a person who just wants to bring forth the facts, mixed with his opinions, he has done a great job with Fahrenheit 9/11. I think everyone should be made to watch this movie simply because they will most likely take something away from it that they never knew before.
