When I heard that Ben Stiller was making a movie with not only his wife, but also with Vince Vaughn, I knew I just had to see it. I'm a huge Ben Stiller fan, but let me assure you, Dodgeball is no typical Ben Stiller movie.
I remember seeing Envy, which was funny with Jack Black in it also, but it wasn't quite as funny as Dodgeball is. In this movie, Ben Stiller plays the bad guy (which is a role he is perfect for) and it's almost like the character he plays in Heavyweights, one of my favorite movies. From start to finish, this is undoubtedly the funniest movie I have seen so far this year. I literally could not stop laughing.
In addition to the three actors listed above, this movie boasts Stephen Root, a pirate, a mentally challenged nerd and special guest spots by such people as Lance Armstrong, William Shatner, David Hasselhoff and Chuck Norris.
While I will admit that some Ben Stiller movies aren't the funniest or best he's done (Duplex), this is quite possibly the funniest Ben Stiller movie I have ever seen. Ben Stiller really has, truly, created a character here. Ben Stiller has become that character, and for that, this movie is all the funnier. Ben Stiller should win an Oscar for this role. Ha ha, just kidding. No, but really, he should.
And as a warning, if you watch this movie, stay until the end of the credits. It will be worth it, even if just to disgust you.
