I knew the basic premise of this movie going into it. It's kind of like the first Spider-Man movie in that way. It's just a build up. The story behind the story.
Well, this basically tells you how Daredevil became who he is, how the Kingpin killed his father and now why Daredevil wants the Kingpin. They also introduce Elektra, which is a nice touch. All of these actors (Jennifer Garner especially) did a great job. For those who doubted Ben Affleck- believe! Believe!
Even with the sort of "I know what's going to happen" feel, this movie was great. Dare I say, better than Spider-Man? A lot of the commercial appeal to Spider-Man, not the character but the movie, isn't really in Daredevil. So if this movie doesn't seem as big or great, it's simply because it's for the die hard fan, the fan of Daredevil, not the people passing by who have no idea what it's about but thing Ben Affleck is cute.
To sum up, this is one of the best movies to come out in 2003. I saw it in the theaters and can't wait until the day when I can own it. I'm also looking very forward to the sequel.
