Land forms come in many different shapes and sizes. Although the definitions may be the same, no two land forms are the same. As a world explorer you will be traveling to different mountains, rivers, oceans, and deserts. |

You will be making a flip book that includes a picture of each land form, a definition of each land form and a descriptive paragraph. When you write your paragraph you get to choose which mountain, river, ocean, and desert you want to write about. Next, for the fun! We will be using clay to make a mold of all the land forms on one platform. Then paint it with the appropriate colors. In order to complete your exploration you will need to follow the steps below. |

Before you begin your climb, draw a picture of a mountain. Next, write the definition of a mountain. As you reach the top pick a mountain listed and write a descriptive paragraph. Use plenty of details, include the name of the mountain, we may want to make the climb too. (Select: Mt. McKinley, Mt. Diablo or Blue Mountains) |

As you start to raft down the river, begin by drawing a picture in your flip book. Then, write the definition of a river. Don't take your oars out of the water yet, look up a river listed and write a descriptive paragraph. Don't forget the name, we want to know where we are rafting. (Select: Nile, Hudson, or Mississippi. |

Whether you are surfing the waves or exploring the ocean depths, draw a picture of what you see. Next, write the definition. When you decide which ocean you want to surf, explore, or sail out to sea on write a descriptive paragraph, name the ocean and why we may want to join you. (Select: Pacific, Atlantic or Indian) |

Make sure your water bottles are
packed and full, we are moving to the desert. Prior to leaving,
you want to draw your picture and write your definition.
We're not sure if it is a mirage or not so be sure to write the name of
your desert in you descriptive paragraph.
