Jordan Wiseman was one of the best CIA agents working for the Neo-US. However, that wasn’t good enough for Neo-US General Wade Eiling, who murdered Wiseman for his brain. Eiling used Wiseman’s brain for the “Superman Project”, an attempt to genetic engineer a super human. The Project was not able to produce a brain for their body, so Eiling used Wiseman’s brain. After the project was complete, Wiseman became the government weapon Mr. Newman, his codename in the government of course. Eiling then forced Newman to do “jobs” for him by holding his family hostage. However, Eiling made the mistake of having Newman try to kill Andrew Kelly and fight Jack Kent/Superman. After some fighting, Newman convinced Andrew and Jack to help him against Eiling. Andrew, the Neo-US Dictator at the time, had Eiling court-martialed and imprisoned. Andrew also released Newman and his family from government custody. Later, Newman helped the Justice League prevent old soviet Red Rocket suits from getting into the hands of Vandal Savage. Afterwards, Mr. Newman became the tenth recruit of the second Justice League.
