Ice was born Tora Olafsdotter, the eldest child to King Olaf and Queen Elin of the Ice people of Norway. The Ice people are descendants of the Norse Gods. This making them demi-gods with amazing abilities to produce and shape snow, ice and crystal. Into this world Tora was born. She was the apple of the King's eye, but Tora was too curious about the outside world. Olaf was afraid that Tora could be stolen away by the warm-bloods outside the Ice kingdoms walls. Overtime, she was able to escape and get on board a icebreaker ship passing by the coast from the Arctic to Metropolis, where she came in contact with Justice League and future member Fire, during a fight with the matter-eating “Weird” Aliens. Tora, who took the name Ice, and Fire proved to be helpful against the Aliens, as they are weak against extreme cold and heat. So impressed by their powers their were invited into the League. Out of the two she was let into the League last making her the eighth recruit to join the Justice League. Her mild nature and her powers to create ice and snow meant she was sometimes overlooked by her teammates, apart from Wally West, who was besotted with her but he is with every woman.
