Focus Foglight Mod

Car: 2003 cd silver zx3

Price of project: about $3.50

Supplies Needed:

12-14 gauge wire (we used 14), Male crimp connectors, wire strippers, and a roll of electrical tape. A Crimper/Stripper Tool. Everything is available at Walmart even the tool if you don't have it.

Next cut about 2-5 inches of wire. Then strip about 1/4" to 1/2" off each end. Place a Male connector on each side, then crimp the connectors down in place, cover the plastic part of the male connectors with electrical tape, to give a little added insolation. You should have something that looks like this:

Next pop your focus's hood and locate the fuse box:

Open the fusebox locate the relay R13 (there is a diagram on the other side of the fuse box lid, I took a picture of that, and also though I should point out R13)

Remove R13, you will have to wiggle it to get it out.

Once R13 is remove you will have 5 slots that look like:

Take the jumper wire we made earlier and put one end in each of the slots going horizontally, in other words

THE BLUE ONES!

After you are done it should look something like:

After the fuse box lid is back on and the hood is closed try it out, it should look like this:

The reason I chose male connectors they are the closest things close to the relay ends, check it out:

Remember you are doing this at your own risk, I would always replace the wire with the relay, when going to inspections or to the dealer for service. I take no responsibility if you mess up but if you have any questions email me wdimase@kings.edu. Or try the message boards at focaljet or focus fanatics
