A strong man. His willpower is strong, and he lends his to others of the Zeon cause. He will do whatever his superiors tell him to do, and he does it with pride. |

Wants to get back into space more than anything else and will do all that he can to ensure that he and his forces make it back. He has also gained a fondness of the sea, because the weightlessness reminds him of space. |
Background:
Rutger was a promising officer with the Zeon fleet. He had trained for a long time and moved up within the ranks. As a young man he was inspired at first by the words of Zeon Zum Deikun, and later by the Zabi family. Zeon was his first passion, his second was space. When he was sent down to Earth to lead a task force, he was taken out on his "natural" environment, but did so willingly because he had faith in his superiors. During the war, he fought valiently and was granted actual knight-hood by the Zabis for his accomplishments on and off of the field. As his achievements rose, so did he in rank and in the face of his peers. He was a shining example of what a Zeon officer should be. And then the colonies dropped.
The following few weeks were mass chaos. Those that were able, to fled to space. All the others though were left stranded on a ravaged and decimated planet. With all of the destruction being caused by deserters and vultures, defending bases was getting more and more difficult. Rutger was lucky though, his current unit was an amphibious one and was in the middle of an important operation that might have changed the course of the war had both sides not faltered in the collapse. Their mission was to take over the Federation's main headquarters, Jabrow. He had been assigned as the mission's leader and continued the mission even when he heard what had happened.
He had bid his time properly and when the moment was right, he attacked the underground base during it's state of confussion and he and his troops dominated the Federal Forces, and helped to cripple the Federation on Earth. As a testament of their strength, he siezed control of Jaburo for Zeon. This proved to be a very fortunate thing, because he then used the base as a rallying point for the still loyal forces in South America, and used it to as a command base to help secure positions in Europe and gained a foothold in the Mediterranean(Jordan) over the course of several years. He had gained quite a reputation and was offered the position of Commander of Zeon's Earth forces. Although it was a great honor to hold such a position, he was still as ideal a soldier as ever and in a humble gesture he declined. Since then he's worked as a figurehead for the Earth Zeon forces and remains as a Mobile Suit pilot to this day. Even with all his achievements, he is still stranded on the Earth and longs for the day when he can go back to space. |
