DDL
launches three more Red Square beverages

Demerara
Distilleries Limited (DDL) has launched three more brands of
Red Square, the mild beverage for teen drinkers it first put
on the market two years ago.
The
launching took place at the Hotel Tower, Main Street,
Georgetown, on Friday night. The three new varieties are White
Ice, Red Ice and Blue Ice.
DDL
Marketing Manager, Mr. Antonius Raghubamsie,
said that although White Ice was introduced to the market in
January, it has only now been launched officially with the
other flavours. Red Square was first launched in Guyana during
December 2001.
Raghubamsie
said White Ice contains a lemon flavour, Red Ice has a
Cranberry, and Blue Ice is Blueberry flavoured.
He
noted that the demand for the beverage has been the fastest
growing globally, and there has also been a marked decline for
beer, he said.
“Consumers
are looking for something beyond beer, and the Red Square
variety meeting that need is unique”, he added.
Red
Square is also in the “Ready to Drink” category of
products, which has a five percent alcohol - Ivonoff Vodka -
content already mixed.
The
product is also the first to introduce the latest design in
packaging and labeling technology, which is Sleeved Labeling,
covering the entire bottle, he said.
DDL
mid last year entered into an agreement with Hallwood
International of the United Kingdom to produce Red Square for
North American, South American and Caribbean markets
