This tutorial will show you how to download Adblock Plus, in order to rid your browser of those annoying banner and pop-ups. 
Firstly, you'll need to have Firefox version 2.0 (or higher). Once firefox is downloaded, open your browser and click the TOOLS tab. In this TOOLS tab, click on the sub-tab titled ADD-ONS.  In the ADD-ONS screen, you will click the GET EXTENSIONS link.  The GET EXTENSIONS link will take you to a Mozilla add-on site. In the search field, you will type: adblock plus. Download the adblock application, and follow the prompts to restart your browser.  Once adblock plus is downloaded to your browser, there will be an adblock icon in your browser bar with a down-arrow beside it. Click on the down-arrow (not the icon itself) and click the PREFERENCES sub-tab.  The Adblock preferences window will open, and you will click the ADD FILTER SUBSCRIPTION sub-tab.  The easy subscription window will open and you'll choose the region your from, and click SUBSCRIBE.  You should once again restart your browser, and your banner troubles will be long gone. This application is great in a sense that you can totally customize what you want blocked, and it's smart enough to allow non-advertisement pop-ups that are part of an internet site.
