White mages do exactly what you'd expect them to do: Heal. Early on, white mages have it rough, often not finding a party until level 10 or so. After that, they're golden, always being able to find a party because they are in such high demand. White mages also have other abilities besides healing. Using these abilities, as well as just playing it smart are what make a good white mage.
Strategy/ mini FAQ
White mages heal, thats about it. However, they also have abilities such as barstonra and poisona that help the group in other ways. Casting protectra (gained at level 7) is extremely important for the group, and if your fighting worms (which comprise some of the best xp yields early on) casting barstonra is even better than protectra. If someone is poisoned, you can remove it with poisona. Keep your spells updated, almost all of them come in handy at some point. Later (level 25) you will get raise, which revives KO'd members, and will have to deal with many people asking for your service. As a white mage, you must also understand that there are times when the mob will turn its agression towards you, in this case, DO NOT RUN. The tank will not be able to help you if you pull the mob away from him, so just hold your ground and wait for tank to peel it off of you.
