Bard

Bard's are the buffing kings. Bard use instruments and their voices to give the party usefull abilities such as regen, increased attack strength, and refresh (which recovers MP without healing, great for the mages in the party!) Bards also have useful abilities that debuff their enemy. They can put multiple enemies to sleep, and can reduce various stats on mobs, allowing for more damage to be done by your party. Bards are NOT damage dealers, a bard that tanks is a bard that dies.
Strategy/ mini FAQ
As a Bard, you are a White Mage without mp. Your songs do not require mp, and since so many songs buff and debuff people, subbing with another average class is not a good idea. At later levels, many songs help mage classes (such as refresh), so using a bard as a sub can be a great idea. Never attack with a bard, you simply don not have the strength to tank like a warrior. However, don't let that fool you: The Bard is one of the most desired jobs in high level parties. Stick to buffing and debuffing and you will succeed.
