Topic: Otogi Jushi Akazukin
A boy named Souta is out in the woods when he?s attacked by a monster. However, a strange girl shows up and saves him. It turns out though, that this was only a dream as his bossy neighbor Ringo wakes him up. They?re going to be late for school. To two rush to get ready, but there won?t be much schooling for Shouta, as he collapses. He has another dream, this time about a story that his mother once told him about a warrior who was tested by God. Eventually, he and the world were split into two. One side used magic and the other science. He wakes up in the nurses office and finishes his day at school. When he gets home, he sees an injured dog and takes it in. That?s not the only surprise waiting though, as a giant monster is in his house. Shouta is able to use some weird power to fight it. He?s not able to defeat it though. Luckily for him, that girl from his dreams is real and she saves him. The baffled Shouta has plenty of questions that he?d like to ask, but both she and the dog need some sleep after the fight. Meanwhile, a cat named Randagio and a boy named Hansel are looking for ?the key of the seal.? They haven?t gotten it yet, but they have other problems. Akazukin, one of the three musketeers, has escaped to the other world. While Shouta?s making dinner, Ringo comes over. Not wanting her to know what?s going on, he tries to make her leave. Soon after she?s gone, Shu and the two eat. It turns out that Akazukin is the girl and the dogs name is Val. They came through the well in his yard from the other world. They?re interrupted by the return of Ringo. She?s not at all happy to see Akazukin feeding Shouta. She calls him a pervert for having a ?cosplay-girl? over and leaves. Akazukin tells Shouta the rest of the story about the two worlds. The science world where Shouta is from is called Elde. The magic world where she?s from is called Handeville. Now there?s trouble in her world. The highest devil, Cendrillon, has been revived. She?s currently building a witches castle in Elde. She wants to release the key of the seal, which is what split the two worlds. The next morning, as Shouta heads for school, he makes Akazukin promise that the two of them wont leave. Ringo is waiting right out side his door and is still angry from the previous day. In Souta?s house, Val is watching t.v. He notices a spy from his world. He and Akazukin have been located. He convinces her to leave the house to go after the enemy, but the enemy finds them first. After school, Ringo is picking flowers in a place where she and Souta used to hang out,. Souta comes over to her, and she asks for an explanation of who the girl and dog were. However, a monster swoops down and grabs Ringo. Shouta chases after her and finds Akazukin and Val trapped in a cage. Hansel threatens top kill Ringo if Shouta doesn?t realease his power. He blasts out an incredible force and frees the others. Hansel now knows that he?s the key to the seal. Help then arrives for them as Sirayuki, the second musketeer arrives. They?re able to fight off Hansel and Randagio. Cendrillon doesn?t give them too much of a scolding, because at least they?ve located the key to the seal. Shouta goes back home, and is now living with both girls. Ringo?s not too happy about that. This begins a new OAV. I figure I?ll do it, since these things don?t take too much time. Besides, I really like how this is coming. The animation is beautiful, the character designs are adorable, and I like the plot. Ringo reminds me of Sweet in more then just character design, which is a bonus. I?m really curious about who the third Musketeer is. There?s n indication in either the OP or ED. I wonder if this means there will be a new theme when he/she?s introduced. OAVs do tend to have a high production value.
