Jinki Extend Dropped

I'll continue to watch it on the side, but it's too much of a pain for me to translate. My Japanese is rather bad. Blame that stupid old man and his speaking disorders.

Jinki Extend 05
Topic: Jinki Extend
This one?s gonna be rather fast since I have a lot to catch up on. Aoba has her first real battle, since that ball game doesn?t really count. She manages to knock the opposing Jinki off a cliff, but falls off as well. She gets knocked unconscious from the fall. When she wakes up, she discovers that Ryuhei is gone (he?s actually just sitting on top of the Jinki) but the other Jinki is still there. Aoba wanders around a bit and meets this boy, Koze. Unfortunately for her, she lost her pants in the muddy water. Koze is struggling so hard not to look at her underpants that he goes in and gets them for her. The two seem to be getting along quite well, that is until Ryuhei comes and tells her that he?s the pilot of the enemy Jinki. He later attacks the base again. This time Rui goes out with Ryuhei. Aoba really likes him, and she angsts as she watches his Jinki. It?s also learned that Old man has a sword, a creepy red-eyed pupil, and a connection to Akao. I think I?ll conveniently ignore the rest of the Extend storyline, at least for now. Though it?s alright, the Jinki storyline proves to be much more interesting, plus we?re seeing a lot more of it. About Koze, he?s not dead yet. I think he and Aoba might be a cute together, but I have no idea what will happen as the story progresses and making speculations can often be a bad thing.

Jinki Extend 04
Topic: Jinki Extend
First off, it looks like there?s finally a real opening. I was starting to think there might never be. For a summary, the episode begins with Stupid-old-man-who-should-really-be-dead riding a bike and Rui jogging to get some exercise. Aoba, also jogging, is lagging behind. She then winds up tripping on a rock and falling down. (Admittedly, I probably would?ve wound up doing the same thing. ^_^) Rui comments on this, which gets Aoba mad. She continues running but is still panting like crazy. They meet up with Kawamoto and Ryuhei, who are in a van. Ryuhei makes Aoba even madder. SOMWSRBD and Rui question Aoba?s skill, but she persistently disagrees. Meanwhile, Aoba?s creepy mother Shizuka is meeting with a bunch of guys in animal masks. The next morning, Rui taunts Aoba as they?re walking down the stairs, which causes poor Aoba to fall again. After breakfast, it?s training time again. Aoba says that she won?t loose to Rui. She takes the lead in a race, but suddenly falls. (Wow, again?) Rui runs off ahead, but SOMWSRBD goes to help her. Regardless of the fact that she can?t stand up, she says she?s fine. He then goes to train Rui with some extreme dodge ball. Aoba watches them with angst and then sees a Jinki hanging over her head. It turns out to be just a remote control toy of Kawamoto?s, who falls out of a tree in front of her. They sit together and talk. Aoba presses a button on his Jinki toy, and it talks. After some more talking, he gives Aoba a key. She uses it to activate a Jinki simulator/treadmill later on. She winds up training all night. Back in Akao?s future-verse, the girls talk. Akao seems to be having troubles as well. In the main (and in my opinion much better) story, SOMWSRBD comments that Aoba is doing better, and she and Rui start another race. She?s careful not to trip over that rock this time. Still, she winds up losing. She manages to remain rather cheerful though. She takes a bath and notices someone else. Surprisingly, it?s Shizuka. Needless to say, Aoba?s not too happy. Hearing a warning sound, Aoba and Ryuhei get in the Jinki. Shizuka makes an evil little comment as she leaves. Holy crud! I wrote a lot and I still haven?t gotten to my comments yet. First, I was right about the fact that Shizuka certainly isn?t trustworthy. Second, I must talk about Aoba?s greatness. Everyone who?s blogging this seems to really like her, and there are many reasons why she?s so likeable. Generally I dislike main characters because they?re perfect, but Aoba?s far from perfect. I really like this about her. Also, she can be quite adorable and has great facial expressions.

Jinki Extend 02
Topic: Jinki Extend
The show oficially has an opening theme. It's a cute song, but it's unfortunately made up of only show clips, at least for now. In this weeks episode, Aoba discovers a users manual for the robots, which are called Jinkis, hence the title. I wonder what the Extend part means? She spends all her free time studying it. When it's time for the Jinki to go into battle, she sneaks inside it. The pilots find out that she's there though, and she gets scolded. She wants to pilot the robot and isn't allowed. All this arguing distracts them though, and the old man (I still don't know his name)winds up getting punctured in the back by a shard up glass. Aoba takes his position and gets to be a pilot, though he does help her control the Jinki. However, before we can see how she does the episode ends.

Jinki Extend 01
Topic: Jinki Extend
Usually it takes me at least two episodes to get hooked on a show, but this one had me hooked in a matter of seconds. Still, I never judge an anime by one episode so it could turn out to suck. Anyway, the opening scene was great. Two robots were fighting in front of Tokyo Tower. I love giant robots and I love Shinjuku, thus I was happy. Anyway, the show goes on to focus on a girl named Aoba, who looks quite similar to one of the girls fighting in the beginning. She keeps having flashbacks. Anyway, after escaping from a creepy perverted crossdresser's clutches she notices a giant robot and is quite impressed. Noticing some people nearby, she hides inside a back compartment in the robot, however when she tries to leave it closes and she's trapped inside. Apparently, the robot was being piloted by two people (a boy and an old man.) I find it sort of strange that the robot has two pilots but whatever. Anyway, during the battle Aoba falls out of the compartment and is caught by the robot and put inside. Unfortunately for her, she lost her skirt in the process and thinks that the pilots are perverts. She sits in the passenger seat (wait a second, since when do giant robots have passenger seats?) and the battle continues. However, she winds up helping out and they win the fight. She then leaves and goes to take a bath. Meanwhile, some other strange things are going on including a strange girl standing on top of a building of some sort. I'm looking forward to seeing more. There's good music (Angela! Yay!) and an interesting plot. Considering Aoba's flashbacks to the fight in the beginning and her resemblance to the girl, I'm curious what connection they have. Maybe she is that girl, maybe she's related to her or maybe she's a reincarnation of some sort. Only time will tell.
Image Descriptions:
1. I'd probably have the same reaction if I saw a giant robot
2. The robot pilots
3. Seemingly Aoba has some piloting skills, even if all she does is lift up a lever
4. I wonder who this mysterious girl is
