Submission Guidelines

1) No profanity (bad language), hentai (pornographic material), yaoi (male/male relationships), or yuri (female/female relationships) allowed. If you send in fanfics with these things in them, I will e-mail you back and ask you if you can make them cleaner. If you are unable to do so, I won't be able to post them. Sorry!

2) Your fanfic should be relatively easy to understand and it should be spell-checked. Fanfics with tons of misspellings and grammatical problems are some of the hardest to read. A good word processor should have a spell-checker that comes with it. It doesn't take very long to do and it would make it a lot easier for me to post and a lot easier for your readers to understand and enjoy.

3) Here's how to send your fics to me:

  • Using Microsoft Word or Wordpad: Save as .html or .doc file and attach to an e-mail
  • Using alternate word processor with .html save option: Save as .html file and attach to an e-mail
  • Using alternate word processor without .html save option: Save as .txt file and attach to an e-mail or paste into the e-mail itself.

4) In the body of your e-mail, please provide your author name if it is your first time submitting, the name of your story, the chapter number, a description of the story if it is the first chapter, and the e-mail through which you would like to receive comments concerning your fanfic. You're welcome to say other things if you like. Many of you probably know that I like to get to know the authors who submit to my site. ^_^

5) And above all, have fun writing and send those fanfics in!

Note: I'm sorry if these rules seem a little harsh, but I have some strict standards and I need my site to follow the same standards.

Send in your fanfics to Starling!
