JJ, writer of A Cool Wet Place, is a librarian. He likes books old enough to use handmade paper (with the imprinted chain-lines and watermarks). He also likes scrambled eggs. He dislikes fighting small children in tae kwon do and excessive cheese.

TJ, writer of The Nanopants Dance, is a scientist. (Not exactly, but don't get her started.) She likes Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bars, riding her bike in strange neighborhoods on warm days, and prefers misheard song lyrics to their real-life counterparts. She loves excessive cheese. She dislikes body parts that feel bruised for no particular reason, and, in a way that is perhaps related to the former dislike, walking into unexpected walls.

TJ and JJ, when added together, are 56 years old, have spent 45 years as students, are married, have one sibling, two half-siblings, and three step-siblings, play capoeira angola, have lived in Wisconsin, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, Washington DC, and Massachusetts, have attended kindergarten twice and not at all, and enjoy making jokes referring to Mystery Science Theater 3000 and pretty much anything animated.

We like Johnny's Stew, though we usually leave off the chicken and hair.
