Ai-Yah! You have come seeking forbidden information on one Hsi Wu, legendary demon of the sky! Okay, What would you like to know? Everything? Ai-Yah! again! Even I, Chibi Hime, compulsive obsessive pop culture diva do not have all the answers(come on, you're actually surprised at that?). Well, I do know that Hsi here is the most devious little winged fiend I've ever laid my baby blue eyes on. Okay..........Here's the scoop...(Tee hee! I said "scoop"! What's next? "jinkies"?)
Hsi wu is one of the Demon Siblings from Jackie Chan Adventures. He's Shendu the Fire Dragon's brother. Each of the Siblings has power over a certain elemental force, however, Hsi Wu was shafted in this department. He has no power over an entire element such as thunder, earth or water. No, he's just got that pair of bat wings (That's said to have an 18 ft. wingspan, Ai-Yah! That's big!). But, what he does have is a cleverly calculating brain that he utilizes to infiltrate into Uncle's shop to retrieve his tail. Yeah, his tail. Long story.
Wait wait wait. So he's a kid? Not really, he's at least a thouand years old, but he doesn't look it here, does he? Oh, and his name,. Can you tell he made it up on the spot? Not bad, told you he was a clever litte #$%&. I think he looks sooooooo cute as Seymour.(Ever notice that only bad guys are named Seymour? as in Final Fantasy X?) So he made himself into a kid, why?
-sigh-To get his tail back. See, Uncle had it in a box in his shop and he put a Chi spell on it. Now, no demon could enter the shop without being invited. This posed somewhat of a problem for Hsi, here. It's kind of hard for a demon to get invited anywhere. However, our crafty, pointy fiend here noticed that Jade Chan was lonely. No one at school believed her exciting and totally factual stories about ninjas and such. She was somewhat of an outcast and was in desparate need of a friend. Hmmmmmm......Get those nasty demon gears ticking. Hsi Wu transformed himself into a boy Jade's age (with cute, spikey hair...Damn! if he didn't look so young....) in order to befriend her for the sole purpose of retrieving his tail. Jade, being innocent, naive, trusting and just lonely is immediately infatuated with the enigmatic boy who seems to enjoy everything she does! Wow! How lucky can you get when you are feeling down? You meet s new best friend who shares your interests the exact same way you do! Jade even starts to like like him. Okay, I know she's eleven and still doesn't like boys, but there is such a thing as puppy love, ya know? It all seemed too good to be true...............If only she knew.....
So anyway, They go to the shop (Jade wants to show Seymour the demon tail she has) which is of course, exactly what Sey- I mean Hsi Wu wanted all along. He is revealed to be Hsi Wu the Sky Demon when he reacts to a Chi spell? I dunno, I haven't seen this for awhile, gotta tape it next time its on for...eh...research purposes, yeah. So, Hsi gets his tail back, and leaves Jade feeling betrayed and angry. (She got so played! I hope Hsi feels bad about it! GRRRRRR!)
Using the necklace she gave him and a flute, Jade and Jackie defeat Hsi and banish him to the Netherworld. Jade is back home later, feeling sad and lonely, when she realizes that all along, Tohru has been her friend. She gives him the other half of the friendship necklace she originally gave to Seymour.
Well, he does seem to be the most motivated of the Demon Siblings, from what I've seen. He's also the most dangerous. Why? He's not so tough. Well, that's just it. He doesn't rely on stregnth or magic. No, he wages war with the mind, the most dangerous thing of all. He's the only one who's come closest to beating the Chans. He is the most terrifying because he knows what you want and he's quite manipulative, as you have seen. Manipulative people are the truly frightening ones. Often, their victims do not realize they are being fooled and controlled, much like Jade.
Onto a few shallow reasons. He has the coolest character design of the Demon Siblings. He just looks cool. He's also able to change into an adorable human version of himself. My mom even said he was a "cute kid" when I showed her a picture of him. Course, she didn't dig thewhole Sky Demon part. Kinda makes him not so cute anymore, right? Sorta, but he's still really cute as Seymour, doncha think? +_~
You were reading this right? Of course I do! I totally dig it! I think they're adorable together. If only he hadn't been so mean to her at the end. I was kinda hoping he'd turn good. Cheesy I know, but I wish he did. Maybe, if there's a season 3, they'll bring him back, Tohru turned nice, why not Hsi? Oh, one more thing, I DESPISE LEMONS! OF THIS COUPLE AND ALL COUPLES RELATING TO JUVENILE THEMED SHOWS. I'm not talking, "lemony" romances where there's nothing graphic, but some of the garbage I've seen circulating is ridiculous and distasteful. It is not art, its porn. Remember that, fic writers. Fanfiction is an art, not trash. Don't make other Fanfic writers look bad because of your poor judegement. Have some class. Kudos to all the well written Hsi/Jade fics that I've read. They're really cool. Keep up the good work!
