I take this shit way too seriously
Okay, so I've been a little nervous about the trade deadline. I mean, they were talking about my boys. My favorite boys: Billy Mueller, Bronson Arroyo, Kevin Millar, even Manny. Manny! It's not that I love the guy so much as I can't help it: He's Manny "more RBIs than any of you muthas" Ramirez! Go ahead, walk Ortiz! Face the Man instead! We can't give that up, I don't care how many tantrums he throws. It was with great relief that I turned on the game this afternoon, knowing that all my boys were staying put (at least for now). And I kid you not, I got both chills and choked up when they announced Manny to pinch hit in the 8th. I'm driving 80 mph on 128, and I'm fucking misty. It was ridiculous, people. But Manny delivered, and we swept the Twins, and all is right with the world.

Until I turn on some WNBA action and the f-ing Detroit Shock come back to beat Phoenix. And it's not just that I hate the Shock (though I do, because what they call "physical" play is just plain dirty ball), it's that I want them to do badly with Katie Smith. And I don't know why, but I don't want anyone profiting from the Lynx's loss. I'm so upset by the game that I have to switch channels to catch the last of The Goodbye Girl, just in time to see the happy ending.

So, I'm back on the upswing of things, and then I watch Six Feet Under. And I'm not saying what happened, but sonofabitch, that sucked. Maybe I can catch the replay of the Manny hit, hat-tip, ovation moment again just so I can sleep in peace.
