He brought us our tears,
He brought us our chuckle.
Get in the car to see his shows
Be sure to do your buckle!
We need to see him
Before he's gone
We'd like to be him
Though his life won't be long.
He's funny and witty
A regular wonder
He's toured up to the top
And low to down under.
His name was Dudley
We loved him so
Before it finally
Came time to go
Brilliant one moment
Mourned upon, the next,
Of all my favourite movies
His were the best.
In a few generations
Will his name still be said?
Or heard, or envied,
Or famous, or read?
I hope and beg
And want to know
If the above actions
Will be so.
Because that will mean
That although he's gone
On and on and on and on
Will be heard his joyful song.
