I am so excited about this video it's almost freaky (so please excuse the obscenely long babble). *g* Jarod and Parker were one of my first MAJOR 'ships (predating even Sam and Jack from Stargate SG1) so to sit down and watch "The Island Of The Haunted" and realise that my favourite 'ship still had a lot of mileage left in it... well, let's just say that a vid was inevitable.
Despite inevitability, however, this vid was not exactly... easy... to make. My first song choice had to be abandoned after several false starts and even when I decided on the wonderful melody and lyrics of Amanda Ghosts' "Silver Lining", I became obsessed with having every single pixel appearing or disappearing at the perfect moment. I don't think I've ever worked on a video this long before (or at least, not once I started the actual building process). Despite the screaming and hair-pulling, however, I do feel that the end result has made it all worthwhile.
No "new" experimentation, just the old favourites, but I did add a nice "text" scene at the very end, just for kicks. *g* My favourite part of this vid would have to be, without a doubt, the quick flashes of Jarod and Parker (squeezed into a tiny five seconds) after the first music "black out". I had anticipated this tiny section taking forever to get just right but, as Murphy's Law would have it, it ended up being the easiest segment of the entire vid.
All in all, a wonderful (in my mind at least) introduction to my JP music video collection... and definitely my new all-time-favourite video. *g*
Drawn to the violence of change
Charmed by the sentimental brave
I hear the door slam, I look the other way
I hate the small talk and the empty day
Silver lining, I bathe in your light
I'll always believe in your place in my life
Silver lining, I know that I'm right
I'll always believe in your right to shine
Scared of the things that people say
Knowing my confidence might fade
I feel the world's weight upon my breaking back
I see uncertainty and the visible crack
Silver lining, I bathe in your light
I'll always believe in your place in my life
Silver lining, I know that I'm right
I'll always believe in your right to shine
