One day, I went up to the attic to see what I could find. I found boxes and bags so covered in dust that no matter what color they were, they all looked gray and old...A bag full of clothes that my mother had worn...Stacks of old newspapers dated before I was born...A box full of toys and childhood memories...A trunk full of pictures that were all black and white...A stack of my grade school papers and my first pair of shoes...My brother's card collection and his first "favorite toy"...A box of shirts that had never been opened, covered in dust, but brand new inside...All these things that had been forgotten. As I searched through the treasures, I found something that got my attention...A box neatly painted with flowers and gold trim. There was a lock on the front and a key taped to the bottom. I dusted it off and unlocked the latch. Inside were at least twenty keys. Each one had a tag on it. I took one out and examined it. The tag read "To the trunk of the car." The next one said "To the back door." Then "To the front door." Another said "To the new truck." One tiny key said "To my diary." I went through them all. At the bottom of the box was a tag with no key. The tag read "To my heart."
