The Movie

Up until this time, solar power has only proven itself in small applications. In the coming years, however, the harnessing of solar energy will be revolutionized by EnviroMission Limited. A team of scientists have designed the EnviroMission Solar Tower power plant to be first tested in Australia. The Construction is estimated to commence early 2003, and is predicted to reach completion in late 2005. By 2010, EnviroMission plans to have four more fo these efficient and enviromentally friendly power plants in operation.

The extraordinary size of this structure will be a feat in itself. The prototype successfully generated 50kw of electricity for 15000 hours over 7 years. This prototype has a collecter roof of 245 meters in diameter with the tower at 197 meters high. The fulls-scale plant in Australia must be 5km across and a full kilometer high. It will achieve a 200 mega-watt generating capacity. The entire Solar Tower plant will have an area of at least 20km2. It will be the tallest and largest engineered structure in the world.
