Miscy's Hair tutorial of DOOM!

Things you'll need:

Hair Cuts this works for:

You really need to have longish bangs and some short layers on the top of your head and around your face. Other than that i have provided instructions for both long and short hair. I personally have very short hair!

LET'S BEGIN!

First, wet your hair. I just got out of the shower here, but a spray bottle would work just fine. Then work a generous amount of mousse into your hair. Now blow dry your hair while leaning over so that you get a ton of volume.

OK! Prep work done! Now what?!

Now you need to tell me if you have long or short hair, that's what. If you have long hair you need to follow this next little bit, if not, skip down to the short hair version!
PS. you can also do the long hair version if you are short on time shorties ^^

FOR LONG HAIR!

If you have long hair you have 2 options. Either put your hair in a Snood (a glorified hair net pictured below) or do what i call the "Rosie" as in Rosie the riveter! To do the 'Rosie' you must first section out your bangs out and put the rest of your hair in a bun or a french twist (if you are doing it with short hair, simply section out the front part of your hair about 3 inches back or so and prepare to tie up the rest). My hair is not long enough to demo either of these, but i will assume you can manage.
Next you get a bandanna, preferably a rather large one, and fold it in half like a triangle. Now you tie it so that the knot is on top of your head and the large point is down by your neck. Now pull this point up while holding the base and tuck it in up under the knot ontop of your head. After this tuck the extra fabric that pokes out into the head band near the front, and TADA! You are Rosie!!!
You may need to pin up some stray hairs at the base of your head or around your ears.

STILL FOR LONG HAIR!

Ok now begins the curling. If you have dry or dull hair i recommend applying a little dab of gloss wax or brillantine (i LOVE Garnier's Brillantine). Put a small amount in the palm of your hand and rub your hands together, then run them through and over your bangs. A little bit will go a long way, and you can always add more.

That being done, turn your iron on, and set it to a pretty high temp. You decide what is best for your hair, but i like it on the hottest setting possible (i recommend conair as a good cheap iron with adjustable settings). Now part your bangs to one side or the other. You will curl your hair away from this part. Take a small amount of hair near the center of your part and curl it up. The key to these type of curls is to not UNWIND your curling iron to release it. Simply loosen the curl of hair off the iron after a few seconds by flexing your clamp, and pull the iron straight out of the center of the curl. This should leave you with a nice crisp curl that you can stick your finger straight down the center of. Now simply repeat this step moving away from the part on both sides. If you have a lot of hair you may want to do 2 rows of these curls. Tuck any hair that is too short to curl behind your ears and VOILA! You have some smexy pinup hair! (Don't forget to hair spray to set this fabulous look!)

ONWARDS!!! To short hair!

Moving on, you first need to part your hair to one side. Now make your first curl right at your part, away from it. You don't want or need a lot of hair, just a little. The key to these type of curls is to not UNWIND your curling iron to release your hair. Simply loosen the curl of hair off the iron after a few seconds by flexing your clamp, and pull the iron straight out of the center of the curl. Repeat this step all down the front of your hair near your forehead. Then do the other side, also away from the part. After you have your first row of curls, go ahead and make a second set directly behind it.

You now want to begin curling your hair back rather than to the side. Do this directly behind your 2nd row of curls and continue all down the back of your head. on the sides you want to curl away from your face towards the back of your head.

Short hair STYLING
You could just leave the house like this, but i recommend that you add a head band with a few curls out like bangs in front and most of it in back behind it with lots of volume going on. You can also add a flower or bow, or brush some of it out on top for a Rococo look. Of course no matter what you do i'd spray the heck out of it with some hair spray to keep it fabulous all day. ENJOY!
