History:Born the son of a certain Hattori Yasunaga, Hanzo, who would earn the nickname 'Devil Hanzo', served Tokugawa Ieyasu loyally and usefully. His nickname - Devil Hanzo - was not only to pay homage to his skills but also to distinguish him from another Tokugawa 'ninja', Watanabe Hanzo. Hattori, who fought his first battle at the age of 16, went on to serve at Anegawa and Mikatagahara, but his most valuable contribution followed Oda Nobunaga's death. At that time Tokugawa and his retainers had been staying near Ôsaka and learned of the assassination only just in time to avoid being detained by Akechi Mitsuhide's troops. But they were by no means out of the woods. Mikawa was still a long way away, and Akechi men would be combing the roads for them. At this point, Hanzo suggested that they take a route through Iga province, as he had ties with the samurai there. In addition, Ieyasu had sheltered survivors from Nobunaga's bloody invasion of that province and those who knew of this would certainly be well disposed to offer assistance. Honda Tadakatsu sent Hanzo on ahead, and, as hoped, the Iga men agreed not only to guide them along back roads, but also to provide them with an escort. At length, Tokugawa and his band returned to Mikawa safely. The same could not be said for Anayama Beisetsu, a recent Tokugawa addition who had insisted on taking a different route. He roams from realm to realm in hopes of further honeing his skills and to find new opponents.

Description:He is shrouded from head to toe in white garments which change color with his surroundings. His most notable feature are his eyes...a natural steely grey, they are normally seen up close only by those who are about to fall under his blade at which time they are said to flash a sickly green...but mind you, this is only hearsay. His sword is either strapped across his back diagonally or across his lower back, depending upon where he is and what he's doing.

Personality:Generally a helpful individual by nature, he constantly finds himself jumping back and forth trying to aid various peoples and villages. Although his services have been rendered to those of higher station, he oddly isn't arrogant. Always willing to give aid to those who need it, he is often considered a backstabber...he never stays in the same place or with the same group for long periods of time and is often noted for switching sides in the middle of a decisive battle in order to aid the underdog. He doesn't make friends very easily and, in fact, trusts very few people...including his own family.

Main Weapon:Höllenreich(a Shinobiganata) - The "Shinobigatana" is designed to allow for quick maneuvers. Its short blade makes it an excellent single handed weapon, but because of its extended hilt it is equally effective when wielded with both hands. All of the Shinobigatana’s unique uses make it the preferred weapon of the warrior. It should be known that the Samurai’s Katana is viewed as being an aggressive weapon, whereas the Shinobi’s shorter sword is considered to be more defensive. It is said that the sword can be maneuvered three or four times faster than other weapons, so speed is an important factor in its application. The Shinobi sword is designed for speed and concealment. its blade length ranges from between 16 and 24 inches and is usually straight. The straight blade design is known as “Muzori”. Höllenreich is made from the finest metals of his country and is tempered to be nigh indestructable.

Weaknesses:
1.) Hanzo is weak on a social level, seeing as how he finds it exceedingly difficult to find people who are entirely trustworthy. Also, it is best not to make friends since you may face them at a later date from the other side of the battle field.
2.) Although he never stays in one place very long, he can often be side tracked by the natural beauty of his surroundings. The natural beauty of the female body is also appealing to him, but he keeps his indulgence in that aspect to a minimum.
3.) As with any Shinobi, the light is the enemy of his concealement. Although his garment allows for an excellent camoflauge, in the light if someone is actually looking, they will be able to spot him.
